As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

Video || Obama Arrives in Israel

Sheesh, this is kind of uncomfortable. But also interesting – haven’t really watched video of this kind of thing so close up.

Weird seeing the president trying too hard. I guess we know Obama is happy to be in Israel because he said so 17 times.

He’s catching grief for the remarks at the end – “It’s good to get away from Congress,” but, come on, spare me the outrage. It’s just a quip.

  1. Shovel ready job for POTUS …..

US President Barack Obama arrived at the President’s Residence in Jerusalem on Wednesday for a ceremony in which President Shimon Peres officially welcomed him to Israel.

Obama signed Peres’s guest book, after which Israeli children sang him the song ‘Tomorrow’ from the musical Annie.

A tree brought from the US by Obama as a gift for Peres and Israel was planted in the garden of the President’s Residence.

  2. The greetings are very telling, in my opinion. He greeted Bibi with “How are you? Good to see you.”; Peres with “How are you my friend?”; some other dude with “Great to see you, brother.”. Even the protocol lady got a friendlier greeting than Bibi – “How are you? So nice to see you.”

    • He makes no attempt to hide his hostilities. Such a petty little man who is completely void of any social skills.

Quip or no quip, Keith…..that crack made him look even more un-Presidential, if that’s possible.

    • I had the sound turned off, but I noticed the body language. One quick stiff semi-embrace of Bibi with the look of eeewwww on his face; two quick embraces for Peres; a real Russki three hug greeting for the other guy. Never looked Netanyahu in the eye.

I wish I could have seen the look on Netanyahu’s face. Bet that told a story too.

  3. The live feed from Israel that started just before AF1 landed showed an awesome array of greeters for the POTUS. From a military band, to an assortment of civilians and military groups; it was very respectful and should have made MrO feel guilty for how he treated MrNetanyahu when he visited our country.

There’s no doubt that MrObama will be afforded every courtesy, every honor from the Israeli’s during his visit, no matter how gauche or rude he may be.

IMO, instead of insisting HE’s so “happy” to be there, his first words should have been “the American people send their regards, thank you for inviting me to your country, I’m happy to be here representing them”.

  4. Yes, Obama is definitely trying too hard (calling everyone “sir”, saying how nice it is to be there, etc.).

But pandering has always been one of his and Michelle’s strong points, hasn’t it?

  5. You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation however I
to find this topic to be actually something that I feel I would never
understand. It seems too complicated and very extensive for me.
I’m having a look ahead on your next submit, I will attempt to get the dangle of it!
