With all the nonsense that came out of the White House about the sequester, it could be that President Obama’s credibility has taken a serious hit. Perhaps it’s not just the Republicans who are going to get blamed here.
Because when Saturday Night Live opens its show satirizing The One, you know there’s a problem in paradise.

That was a good one. What a way to start the day.
Woo Hoo Granny Jan and her awesome videos are back!
Thanks Janice!
Very Good- Which of the cast members or creative team will be getting the first notice from our comrades at the IRS, well once they come back from the massive agency layoffs.
Even slick Willy didn’t sling this much S..T
It is nice to see that some in the loony left still have a sense of humor.
Is the veneer starting to crack? Unlikely. However, it is nice to see someone finally take the crisis-to-crisis-to-crisis version of governing (I use the term loosely) to task.
Thank you Keith; it is very refreshing to see this come about.
Early on, like 5 years ago, commenters referred to POTUS as The One. From Oprah’s endorsement of course. Later many switched to writing “teh one”. Don’t know why, though. If anyone can ‘splain that …. :)
Fired proofreaders at papers?
and when John McCain, in opposition to “this one”, referred to Obama as “that one”, look at all the flak he took.
To answer your question “Will Big-Drama Obama Backfire?”, one can only hope it does backfire, and sooner rather than later!
We must be doing something right. There’s an article on RealClearPolitics taken from Salon and written by Robert Reich. It’s headed “Sequestration, Tea Party Conspiracy?”
“Imagine a plot to undermine the government of the United States, to destroy much of its capacity to do the public’s business, and to sow distrust among the population.” So, who is living in an inverted university, Robert or us? Everything he says is applicable to Barack Hussein Obama. especially that the sequestration was instituted by none other than The One. I didn’t want to read much further but it grabbed my eye that ‘Tea Party fanatics” have gained control of the Republican Party. Oh they have, have they? Would that were true.
Anyway, I thought this article was just as hilarious as the SNL skit.
Thanks for the h/t.
“Tea Party conspiricy to dismantle the government”. Sow distrust among the population, starve the children, kill off the old, and make poor people get a job. Who knew the “Tea Party” was so powerful and their goal is to destroy government as we know it today.
What a fantastic, idiotic, conclusion as to why President Obama and SenReid came up with the idea of sequestration.
Maybe tea party supporters have mastered the jedi-mind-meld thing to control what Dems thing and do.
That Reich–still searching for relevance. He never got an admin job. He is like a toddler jumping up to see in a window.
One of the Sunday Shows (Meet the Press, This Week) put up Reich’s tweet about “Tea Party Terrorists” so at least he’s getting some air time.
This is one of those comments that make me wish there were a “Like” button here. Nice mental picture, Star.
Is that Robert Reich, 3rd or Robert the 3rd Reich?
it would be a gift from God if people start waking up and seeing this guy for the person he is
Indeed. it would unfortunately require that those said people werent BLIND in their defense of all things liberal.
Ugh. I can never get these stupid hulu vids to work…..
I could not hear it–I did every volume thing I could think of.
My goodness, I thought the beginning of this video was the sequestration come to life, zombies, monsters, buildings crumbling and a woman forced to suffer with a tragic eye cataract problem. Whew, it was just an ad for a video game.
DIckGregory, NBC, grilled SpeakerBoehner on the backstory of this sequestration with great glee, but MrBoehner was as smooth as silk and threw the blame back on the President.
Then came MrSperling who danced, twisted, and did the Harlem shake as he insisted that the President has cut spending by a trillion or maybe it’s 170 trillion, but we need more “revenue”.
Then, to MrGregory’s credit, he called out the President and all his men for their misleading and untrue claims of the effects of implementing the sequestration.
Watching a true believer like MrGregory insist that the WhiteHouse was lying or deliberately trying to scare the public was riveting TV.
170 Trillion?? wow, does he get advise from crazy Maxine Waters? Am still chuckling, maybe cut $$ somewhere then spends it 3x somewhere else.
Maybe it should be Maxine Crazy Water.
I don’t do the Sunday news shows because it’s too early for the tea trolly and Cheetos, but that sounds like must see TV. Is the bully Sperling doing the Susan Rice routine on all the news shows?
…the Harlem shake…good one, SrDem. Also like “DickGregory.” You know what a fan I am of his work in Planet of the Apes.
oops. “David” Gregory.
Maybe I had something else in mind when I called him “Dick”.
I thought you did!!! Oh, well–I laffed anyhow.
Dr Freud–call your service. LOL.
Went to my DVR and watched the interviews. Since I could not under oath and threatened by an assault rifle possibly care less what Tom Brokaw thinks on ANYTHING, I did not watch the panel. Boehner hung pretty tough. I liked it. But Sperling–good heavens, this man could not win a junior varsity HS debate with preprinted evidence cards. What a slippery and boring mess.
Same here….
Very funny, and something low-info voters might be able to grasp, albeit too little, too late.
Thank you, Keith. That was good, especially the Village People reference in the end. Looks like the left is starting to see how overexposed Mooch is too.
One of the better skits lately. To bad it’s took them this long to go for it.
test
While humorous this is exactly Bammy’s Chicken Little rhetoric. Run Run the sky is falling. Even some slow low informational voters are starting to open their eyes. And anyone notice how Bammy eyed those gay YMCA guys?!
Also in entertainment news, reports that Jay Leno will be replaced with Jimmy (I heart the POTUS) Fallon. (I just noticed POTUS can be mistyped as POUTS.)
POUTS?
Potentially over used teleprompter speech?
Purposefully obfuscate (and) undermine the States?
Petty overbearing undeserving temporizing snolleygoster?
Well done, Guillermo Grande!
Ha, ha. ROTFLMAO.
Snollleygoster? such language!
I vote for #1 *like
The Obama Threat Level for today is 3 … that is all ;-)
Oh, andPeggy Noonan weighs in:
Obamas are everywhere and doing nothing
“Sick of us yet?”
http://www.nypost.com/p/news/opinion/opedcolumnists/sick_of_us_yet_j9HMazjVztJ7ZByWU9M0YO/1
Google is plugging them all the time, and I mentioned yesterday how I hit on a piece of music on youtube and first got a message from Moochelle. “Our children, blah, blah, blah . . . ” Google and youtube are not doing this pro bono so who’s paying for it, OFA or the US taxpayer?
Either way it’s bad news because I think there needs to be a legal challenge to OFA.
I wonder why comments are blocked.
OT I just watched Chris Wallace interview the Romney’s. I very nearly cried to
see these two charming classy and humble people talk frankly about the loss
to Obama. The stark differences in the Romney’s honesty and the Obama’s
hubris narcissism and lack of any appearence of doing the job he was elected
to (gag). While Romney had his weak points we’d not be in Sequester mode
and wouldn’t be shelling out millions for the Obama’s amusement. Also we’d
never see Ann on TV 24/7 dancing and making a fool of herself and the job
of First Lady would be appropriate you see Ann is a Lady.
Excellent post, Lizzy. It takes my breath away to watch the two who now occupy the WH – totally classless, totally into themselves and not caring about the citizens of this country. It’s all an act. They love to play the part but don’t want to have to work for it.
While we all will be affected in some way by sequestration, the people who voted for Obama will be the most affected. Should I feel sorry about that or should I gloat because they got what they deserve.
I agree completely. It breaks my heart to think that this decent man and his wife were so trashed by the Obama team, and Obama got away with it. The ‘majority’ in this country must be short on morality, stupid, or both.
Oh how I agree! I couldn’t bear to watch them; what could have been…what SHOULD have been!
I watched the Romney interview on Fox. It was beyond sad to think of what could have been. Mitt Romney told us there was no Santa Claus and we would have to put our heads down and work hard. Uninformed voters cannot stand this kind of truthfulness. Yes, Virginia, there is no Santa Claus. It has been mentioned that perhaps Mitt Romney would be well-suited to bail out Detroit. Why should he? That city is full of uninformed voters that did not support him for POTUS.
Their two precious twin grandchildren are beyond gorgeous.
The love shown when they picked up the new grandchildren was a real weepy. You see that’s what true love looks like not the faux
act we see now. God how I wish we had the whole Romney family
in the WH all of them including pets. It would be a wonderful life.
Well said, Lizzy. The contrast could not be more stark – class vs. crass. I will always believe that this election was stolen in the battleground states – can’t help but think the Romneys believe it to be true also. My only consolation is the thought that Obama will never finish his second term. Just a gut feeling.
Unless he is forced to resign like Nixon, he will never be convicted in the Senate should he be impeached.
On a slightly more serious note…
We’re now at the point where even SNL is starting to mock the constant lurching from crisis to crisis of this administration. That is the only tactic they have to maintain control of public opinion, and it is being mocked with relish by SNL. Though I’d like to hope that other comics will take that as license to take that up in their routines, I remain pessimistic. One sketch does not a trend make. (Hilarious sketch, it must be said.)
At some point, even the lumpen electorate has got to start wondering why everything in Washington is a crisis these days. At least, I would hope it would.
don’t hold your breath – never underestimate the sheeple.
That was hilarious!
Because most of Obama’s supporters get their news via a comedy channel already, I’m sure many of them probably thought this was an actual press event.
Nice post. I was checking constantly this weblog and I am inspired!
Very useful information specially the remaining part :) I take care of such information a lot.
I used to be seeking this particular information for a long time.
Thank you and best of luck.
