As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

Quote of the Day || February 20, 2013

“And if thou refuse to make a deal on the sequester, behold, I will smite all thy borders with frogs.

“And the Mississippi shall bring forth frogs abundantly, which shall go up and come into thine house, and into thy bedchamber, and upon thy bed, and into the house of thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thine ovens, and into thy kneadingtroughs.

“And the frogs shall come up both on thee, and upon thy people, and upon all thy servants.”

– Barack Obama

  1. Yes, according to the Emperor of Waffles the world as we know it will end if he doesn’t get his way. A cut of $85 billion will crush us, devastate us, people will starve, crime will rise, the sun will go dark. We will be doomed!!! Meanwhile, the GAO reports that Obama’s Executive branch WASTES $125 billion annually.

    • Really? Does “that GAO report” have data for other years and presidents adjust for inflation and expressed as a % of GDP – thus allowing some context on the assertion? It is relevant and relative don’t you know…

      Do share!

      • Well those frogs don’t come cheap: deficit since the one came to power:
        2008-641,848
        2009-1,549,681
        2010-1,370,494
        2011-1,366,777
        2012-1,393,922

Via the GAO expressed in millions. Kind of a large jump in 09 I’d say. Almost forgot, we were stimulating the economy!

      • Just2old. Off topic, he cited “waste report”. But thanks for sharing…

I am familiar with the data, don’t you know. Have you actually dug down and looked at what was spent where? Sure you have, I have. I suggest you have ordered up a combo from Jack-in-the-#%#: selective perception and conformation bias with a side of myoptic bias…

Not surprisingly, folks just toss numbers up and offer no context or bother to suggest the range of options that were in play. Speaking of numbers, how does your 401k look today?

    • Actually, it is only $44 billion reduction in the rate of growth. Not a real cut in sight! The leviathan spends that much in 10 days. Heck, Preezy should just ask Uncle Ben to fire up the presses and print up another $44 billion to add to the weekly $85 billion he’s currently printing to prop up the stock market.

Preezy Revenge has played his chicken little routine one too many times. People are waking up to the blatant lies being told by him and his loyal cultists masquerading as journalists. Looks like the jig is up boys.

    • Yes, Susan, must wake up. Now, where did I leave mothers little helpers…. Ah, there you are. Maybe a espresso chaser…

Curious, did you vote for McCain in 2008? Whoever, would we be in a better place now? What would utopia look like? What three or four “actions” in policy would you have taken coming into office in the tight fiscal death spiral the country was in? Pull back on the stick? Apply right rudder, yoke forward? Something else? Would there have been any downsides?

      Now we are talking. :)
