Biden Sworn in as Vice President

by Keith Koffler on January 20, 2013, 9:09 am

At his official residence in Washington, Vice President Biden was sworn in this morning to continue as vice president for the next four years.

As many of you may know, today is the day mandated under the Constitution for the president and vice president to be sworn in. Tomorrow’s festivities are just for show.

Administering the oath was Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor.

Biden was sworn in using the Biden family bible, which is five inches thick, has a Celtic cross on the cover and has been in the Biden family since 1893.

“Biden family Biden”? Do you mean Bible? Of course you could be right, Old Joe’s skull is about 5 inches thick.

Speaking of family Bibles – what is Obama going to use? The Communist Manifesto? There is no Obama family Bible.

…and while it is 120 years old, it’s in nearly perfect condition, as it has only been used on the occasions of family members being sworn-in to office.

Only four more years and we can cart ol’ Joey B. off to the funny farm.

Just curious – Biden was sworn in at 8:21 AM. However his term doesn’t legally expire until 12 Noon today. How can he be sworn in for his second term before his first one ends?

I heard he refered to himself as the President today. There is much speculation on him running in 2016. I hope he does run. It will be one big gaffe fest!
