“Mr. President, I have some bad news. Eric Cantor called and said Boehner won’t be coming over for any more unsupervised playdates.”

- White House Chief of Staff Jack Lew

A note from our attorneys: This is not a real quote

O/T but in the Weekly Standard just a bit ago – Headline: Biden: Obama Considering ‘Executive Order’ to Deal With Guns
More extra-Constitutional activities by this WH? Or a total usurping of the rule of law and the Congress? Could this be grounds for an impeachment fight?

Julie Brueckheimer January 9, 2013 at 1:20 pm

It’s certainly grounds for someone to take him to the Supreme Court, and I’m not implying that anyone in the gutless Congress would do it.

“Could this be grounds for an impeachment fight? ” – Shofar

And Harry Reid’s Senate would do what? You know the answer to that as well as I do, I’m afraid…

Also, even with proof, even with not quite as partisan a Senate, and even if you remove the racial element, what would happen if, for example, you could had a pretty decent case that the Democrat President perjured himself?

“On Friday, February 12, 1999, Chief Justice Rehnquist intoned, “The question is on the first article of impeachment. Senators, how say you? Is the respondent, William Jefferson Clinton, guilty or not guilty?” Not guilty, it turned out: fifty-five senators, including ten Republicans, voted to acquit on the perjury count. The vote on the second article was closer, 50 to 50, but still far short of the two-thirds vote required for conviction. Five Republicans voted “not guilty” on the second article relating to obstruction of justice: John Chafee (RI), Susan Collins (ME). Jim Jeffords (VT)., Olympia Snow (ME), and Arlen Specter (PA). ”

Yep, that’s what I thought.

No hope there, sorry.

We can’t look to Congress or the Judiciary for help. They have joined this little tyrant in shredding our Constitution almost beyond recognition. The next line of defense will be the state governments. It will be up to the individual states to rise up and say NO FARTHER to tyranny.

Be sure to add this to your WTF moment of the day.

Before final passage of the bill, Harry Reid managed to slip into Obamacare protection for gun owners that prevents the government from collecting any information relating to “lawful ownership or possession of a firearm or ammunition“. This was added, according to CNN, as a “relatively benign way to make sure the National Rifle Association didn’t get involved with this.”
