Obama to Depart Hawaii Saturday

by Keith Koffler on January 4, 2013, 5:45 pm

But don’t worry. He has arranged a late checkout.

The First Family will board Air Force One at 10:00 pm Hawaii time and arrive on the South Lawn of the White House at 11:45 am ET Sunday.

Looks like they might miss church.

I’m glad the weather didn’t cooperate.

No it did not..windy rainy and chilly for Hawaii. But those beautiful rainbows I saw this morning on my way to WORK made me think they must be flying away:)

Ah, that explains bowling in Hawaii for the girls :)

Windy, rainy and chilly, you say? Strains of the Hallelujah Chorus are wafting through my head! Can’t you just visualize the MOOCH screaming at Barack? Barack, me and the kids didn’t get our money’s worth out of this vacation – we’re staying until the sun comes out! How much? Seven Million? You owe me, Barack! Shut your mouth! School? I don’t give a fig about school starting – you tell them to wait til we’re good and ready! Now run along – you’re giving me a headache!

Yes I am certain she and the girls did not enjoy it nearly as much as the Won did. They’ll just have to come back real soon no doubt.

I’m sure church is at the top of his list, like jobs.

I thought the only time they went to church was when they needed a photo op. LOL Obama barely spent time with his daughters with him having to fly back to DC like Mighty Mouse to save the day and then all his golf and gym work outs. They could have stayed home and flown in shave ice a lot cheaper than us flying him to Hawaii twice.

Biden left today for the Virgin Islands.. Looks like we’re all on our own, nobody’s home in DC tending to business. Shouldn’t Biden have waited to leave until Obama got back? What slackers…

AZ Granny – yes, he should have waited. But on the other hand, not sure he’s the one I’d want in charge in DC . . .

Frank January 4, 2013 at 9:19 pm

Why do I wish he would just stay there? The assault on America will now continue, that must be it.
P.S. Gore may not be a traitor but he sure is a douche bag.

Just wondering: do you think Dear Leader Obama will show up at Sunday nights Redskins game in DC?

(its all about Obama propaganda)

What do you mean, “if”, LS? Its all about a free ticket, adulation…. :>)

Reply

DeniseVB January 5, 2013 at 11:34 am

I don’t think the Redskins or fans will let him because security may require an extra hour to get in and probably miss the kick off. Also how many of the concessions will be subject to a lockdown and lose money.

I’ll vote no, because I know Redskins fans, they love their team, family, country, guns, bibles and Obama in that order :D

Langley Spook January 5, 2013 at 3:50 pm

…I have this sick feeling that Dear Leader Obama will try to make his arrogant, messiah worshiping self part of the Redskins play off drive

Reply

Darkangel January 6, 2013 at 1:53 am

That’s not going to fly with fans of the burgundy and gold. They’d (correctly) view him as the ultimate bandwagon fan if he tried to make it all about himself. And if the Skins lose with Obeyme in the building, well, I’d be surprised if Skins fans DIDN’T blame him for jinxing their playoff hopes.

Going to be enough of a zoo on Sunday with the Ravens hosting a playoff game at their end of the BW Parkway the same day. I’m not setting foot outside my residence Sunday.

Owen_Kellogg January 5, 2013 at 12:46 pm

Please no. He’s already ruined everything else. Please don’t let him ruin my beloved Redskins as well. If I see the cameras pan him at the game sitting in a seat that an actual Redskin fan could have been sitting in, then it will sicken me so much that I will have to turn the TV off and listen to the game on the radio.

He would be in a sky box, but still, they’d lockdown that quadrant of the stadium for security reasons.

He’s not wasting any time with the agitprop. He’s already demanding the debt limit be raised from his luxurious digs in the Hawaiian paradise.

Won’t be long before the community agitator gets back in the saddle of AF1 to restart the demagoguery tour. What podunk town and audience of clapping seals will he start with? Then there’s always the question of who the victims will be. Paychecks for our military? Social Security benefits for our elderly? Sure hope the Republicans have some sort of plan this time around…

We need a betting pool on whether or not Michelle (or Moochelle as some have renamed her) and the girls fly home separately from Prezbo. At this point, I would say it is 60/40 in favor.

Keith, may I suggest a running talley or spreadsheet or page that shows how many trips we have paid for Michelle and the girls flying on separate flights or by themselves at our expense ? I don’t care about them flying with him. That is reasonable that we foot the bill for them to be on AF1 while he is on board.

I still think Michelle and the girls were on AF-1 flying over the Statue of Liberty scaring New York and New Jersey to death.

DeniseVB January 5, 2013 at 2:27 pm

Wasn’t there an FOIA request for the manifest of that flight ? Come to think of it, I don’t remember any info released ?

KITV’s 10:00pm coverage of Obama’s departure referenced that there was a second VC-25 (Backup Air Force One) present at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam tonight.

The reason for this second VC-25 was not explained in the report. However, the KITV reporter did mention that it was unusual sight, and that the backup Air Force One is usually only deployed during international presidential travels.

This second VC-25 having being flown to Hawaii would now add nearly $4 million dollars more to the cost of Obama’s 2012 Christmas vacation. At the conclusion of just this one Obama vacation, the American taxpayer stands to burden a cost in excess of 11 million dollars.

Reply

Car in January 6, 2013 at 8:50 am

all

Or perhaps they needed to be dropped off at different locations?

Reply

Otis Driftwood January 6, 2013 at 11:39 am

Possible reason is AF2 is in the Carrib with the VP on vacation, therefore not available as backup.

Looked a little further into just what alternatives would have been available for Obama’s return to the mainland…

The 89th Airlift Wing, which provides global Special Air Mission (SAM) operates the following aircraft:

VC-25A (Total USAF Inventory: 2)

C-32A (Total USAF Inventory: 4)

C-37A (Total USAF Inventory: 9)

C-40B/C (Total USAF Inventory: 11)

Both the C-32A and the C-37A have more then enough range (exceeding 5,000 NM) to accommodate non-stop the 4,202 NM distance between HNL and ADW.

The C-40 has a range between 4,500 to 5,000 NM, which would likely require a fuel stop somewhere en-route for a return flight to ADW.

The Air Force fact sheet states that at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (JBPHH), the 65th Airlift Squadron operates the C-37A, and the 15th Airlift Wing, operates a C-40B. Clearly, both of these locally Hawaii based aircraft, could have served as an adequate contingency for “Air Force One” in the very unlikely event they would have ever been needed.

Based on this information, Obama clearly had much cheaper alternatives to serve as a backup to the VC-25A, typically used as “Air Force One.” This includes the afore mentioned locally based aircraft stationed at JBPHH.

Further, the manifest question is a compelling one. Did Obama authorize this second VC-25A for the inappropriate use of his family and friends returning back to the mainland? Or did it just fly roundtrip empty from ADW at a cost of nearly 4 million dollars?
