Of course there is nothing on his day planner, he has to recover from the day off after the overnight vaca flight he took on our dime while the country burned…

Julie Brueckheimer December 29, 2012 at 10:33 am

Oh, I can barely wait for Sunday, can you? (Said with eyes rolling.)

Isn’t he busy leading from behind on the fiscal cliff?

After sitting on his a** all year (how many times did he talk about the fiscal cliff during the campaign?), he sees a sense of urgency 3 days before the deadline. So, he tells McConnell and Reid to get to work.

Republicans got it right last night when they said, “The president is finally showing some leadership on this issue”.

He’s acting like a poorly performing project manager.

Republicans should have been/should be calling out Obama on his “lack of leadership” since 2008 and up to today

Why the pay raise for Congress if he’s blaming them for being incompetent ?

AFVet December 29, 2012 at 11:34 am

Seeing as how his latest executive order was to eliminate the pay freeze on government employees, I wound content that he is leading,….US right down the tubes.
Biden got a raise, probably due to his added responsibility of heading up the gun control panel.
After all, he is the sheriff, right ?
You don’t mess with Joe !

AFVet December 29, 2012 at 11:40 am

Sorry for the typos, ‘I would contend that’…..
This pay increase is to amount to 11 Billion $ to the taxpayer over the next decade.
I thought congress held the purse strings.
Oh, I remember,….they have to vote NOT to increase their pay.
Yeah,…that’s the ticket !

From “Confidence Men” by Ron Suskind, page 15:
Obama grabbed a water bottle, nodded to his economic team leader Austan Goolsbee, and settled into that mindful, Zen hyper-focus that had, since his law school days, impressed just about everyone who saw it.”
I kid you not.

I read that… and threw-up in my mouth alittle :-(

The slacker-in-chief must be chooming again. Has he lost touch with reality? Has he been in a ‘dream state for the past 4 years? He seems to be berating himself! Calling Dr. Krauthammer, calling Dr. Krauthammer….

BTW, the WH is snowed in today. Montezuma’s revenge!

“Ordinary folks, they do their jobs. They meet deadlines. They sit down and discuss things and then things happen. It there are disagreements they sort through the disagreements. The notion that our elected leadership can’t do the same thing is mind-boggling to them. It needs to stop. So I’m modestly optimistic that an agreement can be achieved. Nobody’s going to get 100% of what they want. But let’s make sure that middle class families and the American economy and in fact the world economy aren’t adversely impacted because people can’t do their jobs.“

srdem65 December 29, 2012 at 12:07 pm

But, the thing is that Congress IS doing their job, and have been at it for months. What’s holding up the works, is that HE doesn’t like what they’re doing, because it isn’t what HE wants done.

Where is the outrage from Boehner et al? Bob Woodward wrote about Obama’s deviousness in his latest book, THE PRICE OF POWER, in reference to the last debt ceiling fiasco:

“Woodward portrays a president who remained a supreme believer in his own powers of persuasion, even as he faltered in efforts to coax congressional leaders in both parties toward compromise. Boehner told Woodward that at one point, when Boehner voiced concern about passing the deal they were working out, the president reached out and touched his forearm.”

“John, I’ve got great confidence in my ability to sway the American people,” Boehner quotes the president as having told him.

Wonder if he’ll return to his Hawaiian vacation once the kabuki theater crescendos and the congressional corruptocrats sell out America again? There must be something in the D.C. water that turns patriots into pinkos, or maybe it is just the siren song of infinite power over their fellow man…

srdem65 December 29, 2012 at 12:21 pm

It’s more that our elected officials won their office by never offering to slash popular programs, or to lay off excess workers, but rather to be nice, friendly, so that everyone will like them.
The men and women in Congress form alliances, make friends with like minds, but MrObama really has no friends or alliances there and doesn’t seem to care. He’s depending on the Dems to support him, no matter what.

I don’t believe that every Dem wants to abolish the federal debt limit, or to tax Americans into poverty. Some of them may deeply resent the position that MrO has put them in by being bull-headed about taxing millionaires, because they know it won’t make a teeny dent in our financial problems.

Everyone who is paying attention to this destructive discussion on the tax code, is now crying “quit screwing around, you made your point, now just pass the dang thing”.

Corporate world: Crisis, major bid, etc, “The Boss” sets the tone for the underlings, possibly by fist banging, screaming, example, etc. Hands on interaction with supplier/customer counter parts. Stays until its done.

Military: General/Admiral directs strategy, issues orders, reviews progress, etc. Stays until the battle is won or lost.

POTUS 2012: Delivers remarks with help of TOTUS……………..
