Well, what do you think? I’ll close the poll at 4:00 pm ET.

Candy Crowley…
C’mon, she was just throwing her weight around!
..so you said yesterday…However, ad hominem fat jokes aside, I had a problem with the moderating this time more so than last time… She should never have tried to school Romney on the word “terror” in the president’s statement–bad bad. And she did let the president talk 3.5 minutes more… I thought he came off as peevish myself…his whine rose half an octave in some places.
They should have had lapel mikes–I thought one would clock the other with the handheld…
Fisticuffs would be a great way to determine the presidency. I could go for a Romney/Ryan vs. Obama/Biden tag-team match up.
It had sort of a gladiator vibe, didn’t it? Like throw a net over one and stab with a trident or something. It was a little disturbing.
SPARTACUS!
:-)
Me too. I was expecting the Secret Service guys to step up on stage to stand between the two candidates.
Really? It’s 2012, you’ve got a candidate who’s hemorrhaging women’s votes by the tens of thousands and you’re attacking a female moderator for being overweight?! Didn’t hear any Jim Lehrer fat or old jokes when you won the last debate. If you have a mirror in your house, go look into it, you’ll find a childish, take my toys and go home, Republican.
Oh yeah, all you liberals are such fine, upstanding paragons of virtue…

Hypocrite.
No need to worry about Republicans Mr.Jimmy Stewart, it’s the Conservatives who will burst your bubble. By the way glad you’ve been reincarnated, Hollyweird is full of losers
Its interesting that this mornings US Spanish Media Translations of the event is 30 minutes shorter than the actual debate. Cut was most of the Romneys evaluation of the Obama Administration performance and Obama dominates the speaking time. Little wonder that Romney is having trouble with the US Spanish speaking crowd.
The fourth estate has become the fifth column…
Not interesting – predictable. Cheryl Saban (Mrs.Univision) landed a job the day after Obama was questioned on F&F.

And this is why it’s a tragedy that businesses and the government are helping to establish and support a large group of citizens among us who do not speak English, the language of our culture.
Si , sí, mi amigo. Usted está correcto. El inglés es el idioma de los Estados Unidos y la mitad del mundo civilizada. :-) Pilgrim.
Since I have already cast my vote for Romney/Ryan my opinion on a winner of a debate led by a biased moderater and questions chosen for a specific point of view.
Americans are not discussing the fate of AK-47 weaponry, no one has confused MrRomney with PresGWBush, but they are concerned about the affects of Obamacare, the horrible economy and how the high cost of fuel is firing up inflation.
The debate was a defense of MrRomney’s plans for the future and MrObama’s defense of his administration. No winner.
Spot on, srdem.
Moderator Candy was just plain awful.
Overbearing, I agree–and the questions she and “her team,” whatever thaty meant, selected (above) were marginal in several cases.
I listened to the debate on the radio, so I didn’t get to see the interaction between the candidates and the in-the-tank-for-zero moderator. I thought Obama sounded whiny and snarky and was not impressed at all with how the moderator jumped in to save The Won when things started going poorly for him. My lib friends on FB were delighted that Obama finally showed up for a debate. I don’t think this will make much of a difference in the polls, because Obama was not able to talk about his accomplishments in the first 4 years, and he had no vision he could talk about for the next four. I’m hoping that Romney can pull off a big enough win that we don’t have to worry about the effect of the cheating that will probably happen once the dead arrive to vote.
The behavior of the moderators, with the possible exception of Mr. Lehrer, has been shameful. It will not improve with Mr. Schieffer. I am a recovering television newsman with forty years in the trade.
I was surprised to hear this morning that Schieffer actually said Romney was correct about Obama’s non-terrorist comment in the rose garden on 9/12. Maybe he’s trying to make himself look good before he moderates the debate next Monday evening.
A bit of history about Schieffer. He was a reporter for the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram when JFK was assassinated. He was in the office when Mrs Oswalt (who lived in Ft. Worth) called in and asked for a ride to Dallas. He picked her up and took her. He wore a hat similar to what the FBI guys did and looked very much like an agent. He was in the middle of the confused crowd in the courthouse. Finally they found out he was a reporter and kicked him out.
The Ft. Worth Star Telegram is to the left and the Dallas Morning News is to the right. The CBS connection is from Dan Rather who got his start at a local CBS station in Houston. He got national attention reporting on Hurricane Carla.i
Thanks for the info, OT. Here in “blue Maryland”, I saw yet another car this morning with the bumper sticker that says, “I don’t believe the liberal media.” They didn’t make themselves look better last night.
Why does Crowley still have a job this morning? She can now join the ranks of the out-liars at BSNBC. It’s a sad day for women in America – the first woman to moderate a Presidential debate….and Crowley folded like a cheap suit to the empty suit.
Girly – “and Crowley folded like a cheap suit to the empty suit”
LIKE
Lest we forget Secretary of State – Pants Suit. ; )
i suggest we all email her and tell her she should apologize formally to the public and Romney. Let’s make sure she understands how egregious her behavior was.
I have already sent my email.
Who’s moderating the next debate?
Russian TV (RT). Okay, it’s really Bob Scheiffer (sp?)
I am waiting for him to ask Romney, “How are you different from Vlad Putin and Rasputin”.
But Sheiffer probably likes Putin. Or is sure Obama does. So, you might want to rephrase.
If debating is scored on demeanor, physical presence and content of character, I gave it to Romney.
Preezy brought his in your face game, but there was no there there. “That’s not true” blurted out at every Romeny fact supported statement without correcting him, showed me a candidate sorely lacking in leadership qualities and desperate to throw raw meat at his disgruntled base. (See: Joe Biden’s bizzarro example).
As the 2008 Obama voter in Luntz’s focus group summed up so perfectly, Obama is still bullsh*tting us and it won’t work this time around.
Romney won on truth.
Obama won on lies.
Crowley lost on integrity.
And I am fit to be tie(d).
That covers it.
The Wapo said Romney was more on the defensive than offensive–I did not think that. I think he was more on message. But we all know where I stand…
Wapo? Consider the source. I get calls every other week to subscribe again, and I keep telling them no, and sometimes explain why I’m saying no, but they still keep calling. Figure they must be really desperate for subscribers these days.
Hopefully Romney now knows exactly what he is up against and he will be able to handily win the next debate when he faces his two opponents Obama and Schieffer. This is the final debate, the liberal media has nothing to lose. Schieffer will go all out — all Obama.
Bet Candy wishes she’d abided by the agreed-upon debate rules for the moderator.
Did not watch or listen to the “debate”. Sleep was much more of a priority for this decided voter. From the Snippets I’ve seen our residents in the WH are desperate for us to believe that anyone who says negative things against the One is a liar. Say it enough and a simpleton will believe it.
Mr. Obama, I am no simpleton. Romney/Ryan 2012…..
Even Obama knows it’s over —–
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2012/10/17/obama_says_when_i_was_president_at_debate.html
I thought I didn’t hear him correctly last night, but I guess I did.
That phrasing says a lot.
I hope it’s prophetic. Thinking of him makes me sick in the present tense – pondering the thought of him in past tense eases it. He’s done incredible damage in four years and the remaining “LEFT-overs in every sense of the word “left” will still be in Washington, just fewer if we turn the Senate “right” side up.
No matter what Obama says or does at a debate how could he possibly win when the reality on the ground is that everything Obama has touched has turned into crap? What credibility does Obama have to give weight to anything he says?
It’s like OJ Simpson saying that he didn’t kill Nicole, and that he would spend his remaining days tracking down her killer. Yet since OJ did murder Nicole, and he didn’t spend any time hunting down her killer (since HE was obviously the killer), what does it matter what either OJ or Obama says?
