As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

Obama to Spend Two Days at the White House!

Incredibly, President Obama will get off the campaign trail and spend a whole two days this week at the White House, hanging out Wednesday and Friday to attend “meetings.”

Wow. With just four weeks to go, he’s putting the nation’s business ahead of his own reelection prospects.

Wait. Wait a second. Are you thinking what I’m thinking?

Debate number two with Mitt Romney is next Tuesday.

  1. Hmm.. will Kerry dress as Big Bird during mock debate sessions? Obama can stay clothed as himself [vulture].

    The “Birdmen of Alca-selzter”. ; )

  2. One of the gas stations in the DC area is going to sell gas tomorrow morning at $1.87 ~ same price as when Bush43 left office. I suspect Czippy thinks he can pull rank and get in line to fill up the limo so it’s not so expensive to take ME-chelle Antoinette on the next date night.

    • PG, that sounds like what they did in Michigan last week. The article was linked at Drudge:

The gas station announced early today that it would host a gas rollback event for the Americans for Prosperity-Michigan’s “Obama’s Failing Agenda” bus tour. The group said that the $1.84 per gallon price reflects the cost of gas in 2008, before President Barack Obama took office.

    • Too bad we couldn’t hold a “your house value is back up to what it was worth in 2008” day. Maybe they can prop up home values and the US currency at the same time!

      • TimG – I had dinner with friends Sunday night. The wife half of the couple sells residential and he commercial. I asked for confirmation of just how bad the market is. Answer: Bad 30-35% down. They just sold their home in August (Main Line area and suburb of Philly) and took a beating on a very prestigious cul de sac address.

        • I built new in 2009 and am down 14%, on appraisal, as of May 2012. To sell it would mean a bit steeper discount. The exhalted one and his jesters have absolutely no clue. Obummer will need more than practice to pull out a debate of the issues and win.

          • TimG – where are you and would you consider boarder? ; )

I had an appraisal done in May/2010 and don’t think I’ll live long enough to see the value recover again.

          • I feel your pain. Swear we were one of the last to sell a house in Michigan. New home…new taxes. Mowed the lawn of the foreclosed house next to me for two years. Neighbors on the other side sold for less than what they paid to build. They had/have more Sq Ft, more bath and bedrooms, and sold way under me. I don’t blame the market for decisions I made since with freedom comes responsibility. So what? Had to hire an attorney to get my tax appraisal contested and reduced in court. That part makes me mad.

  3. Well, after a whopping three days of “working” the fundraisers and campaign trails, I predict that tomorrow’s “meetings” is the usual code for POS needs some nap time.

As for Friday, Lynn Sweet had posted a few days ago that her info is that Obummer is heading to “debate camp” in VA:

Obama will set up debate camp at the end of next week in Williamsburg, Va.

Maybe he’ll spend Friday through Monday/Tuesday there leading up to the debate. This time, no Vegas luxury resort with a golf course, no complaining about “they’re making me do my homework; it’s a drag”, and no sight seeing trips to Hoover Dam. It doesn’t matter, he will still either suck or be merely mediocre. If he simply rises to the level of mediocre, the lame stream media will spin a “comeback!” narrative. They are so dying to build this loser back up. Frankly, I think it’s too late. This empty suit, incompetent, lazy loser has finally been exposed and at the same time, the country saw an intelligent, experienced, enthusiastic leader in Romney as he criticized O’s tenure and laid out his own vision for this country’s future clearly and succinctly.

    • They have the WH & Camp David….why in the world do they need to spend gobs of money that We The People don’t have to go off to a resort area to practice for the debate?

      • I thought Michelle said in an interview that they didn’t like Camp David, but I agree, they should go there and stop spending so much of our money. It would have all the security necessary and plenty of room for his debate prep with Big Bird.

      • PG and Just, I was thinking the same thing as you. Last week also, when he was in Vegas. Camp David seems like the perfect place to do debate prep, and I swear that I can remember other presidents doing it there. Not this POS, though, he loves to stay in swanky hotel suites. Maybe it’s because he has company? Who the heck knows at this point.

        • Ugh, html fail….only the word “loves” was supposed to be in italics. Oh how I wish we could edit our posts here. My typing skills are almost as poor as Obummer’s debate skills.

  4. I live near Williamsburg and it’s the talk of the town that Obama will be at either the Kingsmill Resort or staying at one of the posh Colonial Williamsburg hotels for his debate prep.

    • I was able to visit Colonial Williamsburg with several of my co-workers many years ago. What a fascinating view into America’s history. Can only imagine how ticked off we would have been at the time if some phony baloney politician closed the whole place down on a whim and we missed our once in a lifetime opportunity. No doubt there will be many disappointed visitors during president Kardashian’s stay at Williamsburg.

    • Do you think if he’s in Williamsburg maybe he could actually learn something about our constitution? And what we were fighting against? They have some really entertaining reenactors there, that could make it fun for Zippy, and then he could have a beer at one of the taverns.

  5. He is actually in meeting descussing (or should I say making excuses) about the donations from overseas for his campain.

  6. You had me going there for a few seconds Keith. Silly me though for even entertaining the thought that Obama might actually play “president” for a couple days.

  7. Well according to the recent buzz from the Obama cabal the new plan is to
just call Romney a liar so the next debate will be BO saying liar liar pants on
fire. He can’t screw that up he’s been blaming Bush for 4 years.

    • Yep and Romney needs to be prepared for that. Because you know the press is going to call Obama “The Comeback Kid” if he can chew bubble gum and walk next Tuesday.

Romney honestly needs to have a better night then he did last week when it comes to the debates. The debate will be about foreign policy as well and I think Romney can really level Obama over Libya. They been wise to pull back with after their initial attacks. It’s been a month of lies and spin. Beat him over the head with it.

      • Libya is going to be hard for Obama to get away with even with the help
of the media it’s too big and there are way too any smoking guns. And
as much as they count on American’s being stupid enough to believe
the mother lode of BS coming out over this big COVERUP it’s just never
going to pass the smell test.

      • A good poker player doesn’t bet his hand to soon. They go for the gold at the right time. I think the Romney camp knows exactly where the jugular is and will go for it Tuesday. It’s about the right time to really remove the emperor’s clothes.

      • It should be interesting now that Romney is also getting the daily Presidential Briefing, something that Obama has suddenly taken a renewed interest in (gee, I wonder why?)

If Obama brings up Big Bird, Romney should counter with the tens of millions in merchandising that Big Bird brings in, how taxpayer funding is neither needed nor reasonable, and how his good buddy Warren (My Rule) Buffett could write a tax deductible check to fund PBS — or maybe he could just pay the IRS the $1 Billion he’s been fighting them over for a number of years. Shouldn’t Warren do his “fair share”?

  8. I think it’s more then debate prep. I think it’s trying to re-strategize his whole campaign. What is happening to Romney’s campaign is going beyond a 2 hour debate. He is finally shedding his image and being personable to go along with finally trying to win by blaming Obama but rather explain why Obama failed (there is a difference) and then giving a narrative why you will succeed back up by specifics.

I honestly do think Obama can re-tool this late in the game. If he could, he would have done it by now since he had trouble shaking Romney this entire campaign season even though Romney is not what you call the strongest of opponents. If I were advising him, I double down on making this a ground war.

  9. The number given was that 70-80 million people tuned in to watch the first debate. Why?
Watching two well-known politicians talk about budgets and deficits isn’t compelling TV, so that couldn’t have been the reason. There are hundreds of other choices on TV now beyond the big three of years ago, so it wasn’t that reason, either.

    • I think it was a whole lot of people very unhappy with the current situation of our country under Obummer, and they tuned in to finally see Romney directly, without the filter of the lame stream media, or as he is portrayed in Obummer’s negative ads, or by BHO on the campaign trail. According to nearly all the polls, they liked what they saw and heard.

    • wow.
The USAF pilots & crew of “AF 1” and the 89th AW (and Secret Service, etc.) might be allowed to spend 48 hrs at home…

  10. Wonder if he’s staying home tomorrow so he can watch the congressional hearing on “The Security Failures of Benghazi”. C-SPAN will be airing it live at 12:00PM ET tomorrow. I’ll sure be watching it. The testimony of LTC Wood should be very revealing.

    • Susan, I wonder as well.I doubt it – he’ll probably wait for Big Bird to brief him. Sec’y of Pants Suit, should be sittng on pins and needles tomorrow while I am glued to the proceedings. I don’t think even the LSM can avoid reporting on any potential fires that break out from the hearing. Then again…they barely have covered Benghazi and have a ready supply of fire extinquishers.

I’ll put my faith in Keith, Drudge and Limbaugh to report any and all conflagrations.

  11. The next debate is Townhall style, if I recall. I wonder if they’ll take questions from Sesame Street/PBS viewers. I hope so – Romney can remind them that the Pakistani version of Sesame Street received $7 million from the U.S. State Department. The remaining $13 million was cancelled due to fraud, abuse (shocker, I know) was discovered.

    • “Townhall style debate”… how pre-screened are these questions?
I dont like this “debate” style because of a few reasons; 1) ‘people/citizens’ are too stupid to ask Real questions…
      2) Obama feeds off of people and their “awe” of him as somtype of ‘messiah’…
      3) Romney is a Leader and kinda not use to being questioned by lowly peasants…

      • LS – look for Bert and Ernie, The Count, and yellow feathers If Candy Crowley is dressed as the late Mr. Hooper be very wary. ; )

Location: Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York (Tickets)

Moderator: Candy Crowley (CNN Chief Political Correspondent)The second presidential debate will take the form of a town meeting, in which citizens will ask questions of the candidates on foreign and domestic issues. Candidates each will have two minutes to respond, and an additional minute for the moderator to facilitate a discussion. The town meeting participants will be undecided voters selected by the Gallup Organization.

        • “The town meeting participants will be undecided voters selected by the Gallup Organization.”

Hmm, so if I say I’m “undecided”, I get to go? How is it determined who gets to ask the questions and how are the questions selected?

      • I agree. Our national security is one of the highest priorities to a president, and they’re leaving it up to us to ask the questions? We don’t have a clue about what’s actually going on and we’re supposed to ask intelligent questions?

  12. Will Jay have a press briefing to defend the multimillionaire Big Bird who was threatened by the mean ole Mitt Romney who must not like animals or something, what with that dog on the roof thing.
