Romney Raised $106 Million in June

The Romney campaign announced this morning that it had raised $106.1 million in June, a startling sum that highlights the money advantage Mitt Romney will have over President Obama this year.

According to the Romney campaign:

  • $106.1 Million Raised In June
  • 94% Of All Donations Received In June Were $250 Or Less
  • $22.3 Million Raised By Donations Under $250 In June
  • 536,729 Donations Received Under $250 In June
  • Approximately $160 Million Cash On Hand

From conversations I’ve had with Republicans, I can tell you there is one thing the Romney campaign knows how to do: raise money. The Romney folks are even better at this than the George W. Bush campaign, alternately coddling and importuning donors with such well organized zeal that the pocketbooks and purses open up like magic.

That is, this is more than frustration with Obama that is driving cash into Romney’s coffers. It’s a talented fundraising operation.

Whether the operation knows what to do with that money, and its candidate, is another matter.

  1. I know that 22.3 million is a round number, but if we take it at face value, those small donations work out to about $41.55, on average. Raising 22 million bucks on donations that would get you change if you paid with a fifty spot is no mean feat.

    Oh, and @Langley–
It’s still a little early in the game for Mitt to be on the offensive. 4 months of negative ads would be a turn-off, and could ultimately backfire. So I don’t mind Mitt keeping the gloves before the conventions, just as long as they come off after them.

        • Excellent points made by all.
Im just worried because Obama has the sycophant, biased “main stream media” backing him up. Whats that worth? Millions of $ of “free campaign ads” on the nightly ABC, CBS, NBC news… and since 60+?% of the American people (“voters”) are too stupid to think for themselves they will follow the “media” and “vote” for Obama…
Thats why I think Romney/surrogates HAS to get out there early and ATTACK Obama…(subtle at first… then really go after Barack Hussein Obama…)

  2. For the first time in my adult life I have donated to a presidential canidate. It’s not so much that I want to donate to Mitt himself, it is that I am donating to help FIRE Bumbling Barry Oblamo.

  3. May:
    Romney: $76.8 million
    Obama: $60 million

    June:
    Romney: $106.1 million
    Obama: $71 million

King Obama really stepped up the fundraising in June, beginning the month with six fundraisers on Friday, June 1st. He went all out for the month, breaking records with 33 fundraisers, including the George Clooney event that was said to have raked in $15 million. Also, the SJP and Anna Wintour shindig in NYC (not sure what that raised)

So, for all that, he only managed to increase his take in June by $11 million over May? Fundraising like mad the whole month of June and he still couldn’t raise in June what Romney raised in May, bringing in almost $6 million less in June than Romney received in May when he was just getting started.

They must be seriously panicking at Obummer HQ. That’s why it’s time to gin up the class warfare garbage again.

  4. Nice AP headline today…

“Romney bests Obama donations with help of rich few”

    WTF???

With the MSM driving Barry’s narrative with outright lies, Romney better get on the offensive and not let up between now and Election Day.

  5. There are conflicting reports out there that Obama has millions on hand that he’s not mentioning. The Obama campaign could be playing opossum, claiming to be behind in fundraising in an effort to raise more cash.
