As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

Quote of the Day || May 4, 2012

“Sure, Chen Guangcheng will be safe. Just because the Chinese beat, torture and kill dissidents and protestors doesn’t mean they won’t keep their word.”

– U.S. Ambassador to China Gary Locke.

A note from our attorneys: This is not a real quote

  1. From the FT- “Christopher Smith, a Republican congressman from New Jersey, said that the administration had “dropped the ball significantly” and that it would be “scandalous” if the US did not do everything it could to protect Mr Chen.”

I wonder if the O Team will be spiking this one?

    • amen.

Has ANYONE in the “Media” ever asked what Pres. Obama’s “China Policy” is…?

Im just asking…? (being a History/Political Science double Major, with a Minor in Modern Chinese History… trying to learn Madarin Chinese…)

  2. According to MrsClinton, MrChen wants to live in America and continue his “studies” here. He must not have realized that his actions or words were causing his life to be in danger in China or he really didn’t care what happened to him. There are a few countries where freedom of speech are tolerated but China isn’t one of them.

If MrChen wishes to continue his “studies”, he should apologize to the Chinese government, and not expect the American taxpayer to provide him with safety, room and board, and platform to speak his mind.

  3. Sounds like a real quote to me too Keith. This is all so similar to the Elian Gonzalez story. Only difference…today Elian is a good little communist in Cuba. Chen and his family will more than likely be shipped off to a Chinese gulag where they will be forgotten to all but those who believe in freedom and liberty.

In other news…Panetta declares climate change (aka global warming) a national security threat. Guess he has to declare something a threat since the War on Terror is officially over. Hard to believe this is the same bozo who is “leading” our military. Maybe it’s about time we the people declare all leftists a national security threat.
