  1. I watched Kimmel, could not make myself watch bama. Thank you Jimmy, you treated the left the same as the right, in my opinion. I naively hope the press continues this trend in the campaign coverage. One thing is for sure, obama never had anything come close to this level of criticism in ’08.

  2. Kimmel was a lot better than POTUS. While I know that some will dismiss his act as low brow, I got a good laugh out of it, and his going after all stripes, topics, and groups.

    • Keith,

You dropped the magic word “low brow” I just remembered the Kim Kardashian jokes. Why on earth did Greta bring her to the event?

  3. Wow! I was afraid to watch this and then happily surprised that he knocked Obama out. Not a mention of Bush? And nailed the lying Jimmy Blarney. He also really hit it out of the park with the comment abou the 3 dollar dinner with King Putt and Looney. It seems with Jake Tapper being the lead that ABC wants to be the anti NBC and is leaning more to the reality side verus the drooling over everything Obama.

  4. Keith, enjoyed your comments about the the dinner last night and your scotch “coming back”!
Off the topic but about Obamacare…yesterday we went to our 58th high school class reunion…one of the lively ones last year was too sick to come this time. A high recognized physician (Board Member of the largest Little Rock hospital) in our class told us that his illness is treatable but expensive and that due to being too old (76) he does not qualify…this doctor told us that by the time Obamacare really kicks in in 2014, if allowed, that we will never in this country know good health care again.
So glad we have it now. My husband is our local Fire Chief of our all volunteer department…he was injured this morning (burned) at an all consuming house fire…we had all four pumpers and all four tankers there. He went to the wonderful Regional Hospital we have here and is now back at the fire site…how long will he be allowed treatment, I ask? Should he just quit? I don’t think so!!!

  5. I think Obama and the event planners thought they were getting Jimmy Fallon! Kimmel is the only late night comedian who isn’t in the tank for Obama. I watched bits and pieces of the show on CSPAN last night – Kimmel was sitting to MO – she practically ignored him during the dinner. A good sign, indeed!

  6. That was a great act by Kimmel. I laughed the whole time. Good for him for skewering both the “R’s” and the “D’s”.

Obama took some serious shots, though. As Beam me Up noted, nothing like this for Presbo before.

Interesting how the room murmured with disapproval when there was a slam on a Dem and chuckeled when there was a joke at the expense of a Republican. With all of them being so impartial, I wonder why that was…

  7. Kimmel was pretty even-handed which is a sign of a good comedian. For me his best line of the night was right toward the end when he said: “Some people say journalism is in decline, they say you’ve become too politicized, too focused on sensationalism, they say you no longer honor your duty to inform America but instead actively divide us so that your corporate overlord can rake in the profits, I don’t have a joke for this, it’s just what some people say.”

I bet that produced some steam from many of the journalists in the room. Absolutely brilliant!
