Obama Genocide Panel Chair Backed Invading Israeli Territory

by Keith Koffler on April 24, 2012, 12:27 pm

The chair of President Obama’s new Atrocities Prevention Board once called for the United States to force troops into Israeli-controlled territory in order to end abuses she said were being committed by  both sides in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

National Security Council Senior Director for Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights Samantha Power, who chaired the first meeting of the board Monday following an appearance by President Obama at the Holocaust Museum, said in a 2002 interview that “external intervention” in the form of a “mammoth protection force” was necessary to separate the Israelis and the Palestinians. She acknowledged that forcing our way in was undemocratic but insisted it was necessary.

Unfortunately, imposition of a solution on unwilling parties is dreadful. I mean, It’s a terrible thing to do, it’s fundamentally undemocratic.

The new leader of Obama’s anti-genocide effort failed to refute a suggestion by the interviewer in 2002 that the Israelis themselves might commit genocide. The interviewer asked,

Let me give you a thought experiment here, and it is the following: without addressing the Palestine – Israel problem, let’s say you were an advisor to the President of the United States, how would in response to current events would you advise to put a structure in place to monitor that situation, lest if one party or another be looking like they might be moving toward genocide?

Instead of getting up and walking out on this “thought experiment,” Power responded by appearing to imply a moral equivalence between the Israelis and the Palestinians, who were than waging an Intifada against the Jewish state.

She spoke of “major human rights abuses” occurring in the conflict and quoted New York Times Columnist Tom Friedman’s use of the term “Sharafat” two describe then-leaders Yassir Arafat and Ariel Sharon, both of whom she said had been “dreadfully irresponsible” and were “destined to destroy the lives of their own people.”

Here is a segment of the interview.

Power, you’ll notice, spoke sarcastically of the influence of U.S. Jews, saying with a chuckle her proposal to force troops upon Israel “might mean alienating a domestic constituency of tremendous political and financial import.”

She also suggested the United States was wasting its money supporting the Israeli Defense Forces, which safeguards Israel against another genocide, sneering at the “billions of dollars” we spend “servicing Israel’s military.”

Power backs the goals of the “Responsibility to Protect” movement, or “RtoP,” which advocates international military intervention in countries where the most egregious human rights abuses are occurring. She was reportedly a key force behind President Obama’s decision to intervene in Libya.

Once again, the masses remain silent while the corralling begins. At least 63 launch sites of drones in the US. Attempted takeover of the net and attempted gun rights taken away. A new “finance oversight” committee — no oversight by Congress, able to fine, seize and disperse company info, data, monies as it wishes, answering to no one — set to begin next year, TSA now becoming the administrations national police force?
Does this surprise anyone? O, if elected, to give away America’s defense plans to Russia and China. O telling Palestine to wait until his re election? O seizing power from America and Congress daily without ANY restraint.
Obama trying to seize control of oil companies as brazil has done. Wake up, America or the 1940′s will return — this time to America.

A very weird woman who once called Clinton, in a fit of honesty, a Monster. She will get no help from the Clinton State Department.
Israel is committing Genocide? Really? How about self-defense?
Did she miss the phrase “Never Again” at the Holocust Museum?

I am completely baffled as to why American Jews are STILL supporting Obama! The appointment of Mrs. Cass Sunstein is tantamount to appointing Dr. Kervorkian to oversee Medicare patients!

There is a concerted effort to undermine Israel, i.e. the hatchet job on 60 Minutes the night before Obama’s audacious appearance at the Holocaust Museum. One of Obama’s top lieutenants, Bob Simon, attempted to blame the persecution of Palestinian Christians on the policies of Israel when, in fact, the atrocities are being committed by Muslims! It’s nothing less than journalistic malpractice!

She’s awfully generous with American troops’ lives — willing to put them anywhere to do anything that meets her agenda.

Horrifying from that point, too, as well as her assertion that Israel would ever commit genocide.

Hey Sammy, how’s that Libya mess working out for you, seen any signs of an organized political structure yet? Better yet how about all them black flags that signify al Qaeda flying over municipal buildings. Oh those 20 to 30 thousand MANPADs floating in the illegal arms market, some of which have been seen in the Sinai and possibly in Gaza, getting a cut on that deal are you? Yep keep writing those dissertations on Peace Love and Understanding in the Islamic World you would be better to call that writing fiction.

I am stunned that American’s either don’t pay attention or are so uninformed
not to see this travesty unfold. And I am loathe to say why on earth does the
this pathetic little man still engender the Jewish vote? Why? Are folks so far
removed they don’t remember the Holocaust? Eisenhower made the people in
one town very near a camp go thru it after the Americans liberated it as they
claimed ignorance will it take a similar experience to get people to see what Israel is fighting alone?

For many Jewish Democrats, ideology trumps any consideration for their Jewish brethren in Israel. I remember watching a TV special on the Holocaust. Those Germans who were forced to visit the death camps lived a normal life while ignoring the death, disease, and starvation that was happening just a few yards away from their comfortable homes. Those Germans gave up their humanity for their ideology too.

Keith, part of the reason I have been following the cosmetic counter loathing Ms. Powers provoclivities is her strict adherence to the UN, one world government mentality. Per the Irish born, Harvard Professor, all things nonWestern, wonderfully diverse. All things Western, evil.

Radical islamists burning churches and killing Christians–cultural idiocincracy, at which the intelligentsia and UN minions wink and nod. US voters having to present photo id–evil supression of human rights–UN oversight (on IS soil!) needed.

Can’t ya just imagine the pillow talk between Sammi and Cass?

Have followed Susan Power’s career ever since she penned some book about a murdered UN guy that she worshipped (no disrespect to the dead gentleman I just don’t remember his name but according to Ms. Power he approached god-like status). The kindest thing I can offer is that she is an over rated, borderline antiSemite. She is a repulsive choice for this committee.

Sorry — not committee — but the grandiosely named Atrocities Prevention Board. Can anyone say Sudan, Syria?

There is a pattern to their musings.

Ms. Power’s first failure as head of the Atrocities Prevention Board will be to watch the building genocide in Sudan as Muslim hordes descend into the south to slaughter Christians and Nuba.
It is happening as I type.
(I’m glad no atrocities are occurring in Libya, where Ms. Power’s most significant failure prior to being appointed to her new position is playing out.)

Oh, you ask how I know Ms. Power will fail? Simple. Marxist ideologues are horrible at foreign policy.

Today, I went to the beach with my children. I found a sea shell
and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She
put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is completely off topic but I
had to tell someone!
