Another fund raiser….awesome. Remarks on the Buffet rule? BS and I think the electorate is catching on. Punishing those that succeed is not going to resonate among the majority of us….I hope. We’re living in sad times.
Wow another busy day…
I must be out of touch. The only rule I know of at a buffett is to use a clean plate for refills. Did I miss something? I like Chinese-American food and don’t want to see more rules at the Hung Dong Chop House!
It does get confusing but I think it means that everybody should pay taxes at the same rate that MrBuffet’s secretary pays, or that MrBuffet should pay his secretary less so that she qualifies for food stamps.
The woman makes $150K a yr! Berkshire and Warren have smart lawyers and pay the minimum legal–some say less than that. But the way I look at it–he is a dopey duffer who has Bill Gates personally send people to fix his computer and then plays bridge on it all day–his brother does the good works. And would you trade looks with this guy? This is all so stupid–and now it’s Reagan’s idea? Ack.
The ‘Buffett Rule’ would yield $47B over a ten year period…not one year, as Obama likes to spin it. $4B a year is not enough to cover the interest on the national debt for a week.
Drudge has a headline and photos showing Obama ‘shrinking away to nothing’…he looks ghastly! The audio of his rant in FLA today is scary – he sounds like a madman! Maybe he should consider resigning to spend more time with the family.
I watched part of his speech to the college students and was struck by how old and trite his standard spiel is now. The people standing behind him on the podium looked bored and disinterested. It seemed that he couldn’t get this audience fired up with the usual screaming so he kept talking louder and louder. Strange, but telling.
Interesting: Drudge photo of the o, calling it “Shock photo, thin and wasting away”.
I thought he looked spindlier than usual…
Let’s see, eight scheduled work days, and SIX fundraisers. One every 1.33 days, not bad work if you can get it.
Over at Hot Air they say the Buffet rule affects only about 130-135 households in America. I thought the number would be higher because Obama has been ranting nonstop about these freeloader millionaires. It doesn’t sound like this will be the end all be all cure for the economy after all.
Hey there! Someone in my Facebook group shared this site with
us so I came to look it over. I’m definitely enjoying the information. I’m bookmarking and will be tweeting this to my followers! Great blog and terrific design.
Welcome to one of the best blogs on the net!
In a related story, George Clooney will be hosting 150 of his closest 1% pals for a 40k a plate fundraiser for Obama. I’m sure they’ll all get waivers for the Buffett Rule :D
Is the time correct on that fundraiser?
