President Obama’s Hall of Blame

by Keith Koffler on March 23, 2012, 9:18 am

President Obama has passed the buck to others – mainly George W. Bush – for no less than 13 problems that characterize his presidency, suggesting time and again that his own policies are not to blame for his difficulties and he is simply doing the best that can be done with the cards he was dealt.

Even so, Obama is aggressively staking a claim for successes for which Bush shares significant or nearly all responsibility, including increased drilling for oil and natural gas, the end of the Iraq War, and the killing of Osama Bin Laden.

What follows is a roster of Obama’s efforts to assign blame for 13 problems that prevail or have faced him during his presidency. In several cases, the quotes here are just one or two of many that show Obama passing the buck on a particular issue.

Oil Prices

“The key thing that is driving higher gas prices is actually the world’s oil markets and uncertainty about what’s going on in Iran and the Middle East, and that’s adding a $20 or $30 premium to oil prices.”

- March 23, 2012

Solyndra

“Obviously, we wish Solyndra hadn’t gone bankrupt. Part of the reason they did was because the Chinese were subsidizing their solar industry and flooding the market in ways that Solyndra couldn’t compete. But understand, this was not our program per se. Congress–Democrats and Republicans–put together a loan guarantee program.”

- March 22, 2012

Afghanistan

“When I came into office there has been drift in the Afghanistan strategy, in part because we had spent a lot of time focusing on Iraq instead.  Over the last three years we have refocused attention on getting Afghanistan right.  Would my preference had been that we started some of that earlier?  Absolutely.  But that’s not the cards that were dealt.  We’re now in a position where, given our starting point, we’re making progress.”

- March 14, 2012

Iran

“When I took office, the efforts to apply pressure on Iran were in tatters.  Iran had gone from zero centrifuges spinning to thousands, without facing broad pushback from the world.  In the region, Iran was ascendant.”

- March 4, 2012

The Economy

“We’ve made sure to do everything we can to dig ourselves out of this incredible hole that I inherited.”

- February 23, 2012

The Deficit:

“We thought that it was entirely appropriate for our governments and our agencies to try to root out waste, large and small, in a systematic way. Obviously, this is even more important given the deficits that we’ve inherited and that have grown as a consequence of this recession.”

- November 9, 2011

“When I first walked through the door, the deficit stood at $1.3 trillion, with projected deficits of $8 trillion over the next decade. If we had taken office during ordinary times, we would have started bringing down these deficits immediately.”

- February 1, 2010

The Debt:

“Look, we do have a serious problem in terms of debt and deficit, and much of it I inherited when I showed up.”

- August 8, 2011

“I inherited a big debt.”

- March 29, 2011

Unemployment:

“We inherited the worst recession since the Great Depression, a banking system on the verge of meltdown.  We had lost 4 million jobs by the time I was sworn in and would then lose another 4 million in the few months right after I was sworn in before our economic policies had a chance to take root.”

- May 10, 2011

The BP Gulf Oil Spill

“In this instance, the oil industry’s cozy and sometimes corrupt relationship with government regulators meant little or no regulation at all. When Secretary Salazar took office, he found a Minerals and Management Service that had been plagued by corruption for years –- this was the agency charged with not only providing permits, but also enforcing laws governing oil drilling.”

- May 27, 2010

Decline of the nuclear stockpile

“Among the many challenges our administration inherited was the slow but steady decline in support for our nuclear stockpile and infrastructure, and for our highly trained nuclear work force.” (This one was offered up on Obama’s behalf by Vice President Biden).

- January 29, 2010

The Election of Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.)

“The same thing that swept Scott Brown into office swept me into office. People are angry, and they’re frustrated. Not just because of what’s happened in the last year or two years, but what’s happened over the last eight years.”

- January 20, 2010

Anti-Americanism

“I took office at a time when many around the world had come to view America with skepticism and distrust.  Part of this was due to misperceptions and misinformation about my country.  Part of this was due to opposition to specific policies, and a belief that on certain critical issues, America has acted unilaterally, without regard for the interests of others.  And this has fed an almost reflexive anti-Americanism, which too often has served as an excuse for collective inaction.”

- September 23, 2009

The Financial Crisis

“We inherited a financial crisis unlike any that we’ve seen in our time.  This crisis crippled private capital markets and forced us to take steps in our financial system — and with our auto companies — that we would not have otherwise even considered.”

Obama reminds me of that Captain that ran his ship aground a couple months ago. He doesn’t understand that the Captain of a ship is responsible for EVERYTHING that happens on board his command, no matter how insignificant or critical. He also doesn’t understand that he doesn’t own the ship. He was hired by the OWNERS ( the citizens of the USA ) to drive the ship, and take care of it and it’s crew for OUR benefit – NOT HIS!

The biased mainstream media not only either ignored or buried Barack Obama’s Marxist/socialist background, but elevated to a virtual messiah that glib con artist with no experience whatsoever to be president. Now thanks to ignorant American voters, we are paying the price. Of course Obama says it is not his fault. What do you expect a con artist to say?

Gas prices high, yes, because price of oil up; But price of oil is up due to the value of the dollar decreasing…via stimulus and the federal reserve. (I am not a Ron Paul supporter – but a finance guy). BHO needs to be hammered about inflation….it is real. stock prices look like they are up, but I do not think so in “real” terms…..smoke and mirrors.

This guy needs to grow a set and take some responsibility. Bush didn’t even blame the dotcom bubble bursting for the sagging economy Clinton left him with and he never blamed the attacks on September 11, 2001 for the big hit again to our economy. He took the bull by the horns, set some tax cuts in place and rescued the economy and recouped the lost jobs.

Reply

Israel – Obama said he’s the one who inherited a terrible situation and repaired relations to be the best ever, presumably by walking out on BeBe and ordering them to return to 1967 borders, all while repeatedly chastising them.

Federal Budget – The reason the Dem controlled Senate hasn’t met their Constitutionally required budget in over three years is because the evil Repubs and Tea Party are blocking it. (He professes to know it all, but apparently never took math.)

Race relations – It’s the white police sargeant that failed to exercise good judgment because all he saw was the color of the professor’s skin.

Guantanimo Bay – The reason it’s still open is George Bush and the Republicans.

School lunches – Parents don’t know how to pack lunches for their own kids, only the Food Nazis can.

Political discourse – Rush is evil and Bill Maher is a patriot because they were apparently taling about two different things. And he can’t control anything if someone gives his campaign $1 million.

He keeps talking about all the problems he inherited, yet he was in the Senate for 4 years and voted for many of the bills that caused the problems he inherited. He separates himself off when he was part of the problem with his voting in the senate.

Now, he blames everyone for anything wrong, takes personal credit for stuff he had nothing to do with, and now is wanting Americans to fall for the song and dance a second time.

Worst POTUS in history. He’s a crybaby of the nth degree. He rode the system throughout his entire lise. He’s never had a real job, he hates American exceptionalism, he despises the principles and values that made this country great, and he’s on a mission to destroy this magnificent nation. If he’s reelected, Americans have no one to blame for themselves for this country collapsing into the USSA. This man is a disaster, a failure on all counts, and he told us before he was elected and he’s told us time and time again while in office exactly what he was going to do. Our Founding Fathers and all the brave men and women who died fighting for the USA are turning over in their graves right now. I pray to God Almighty that Obama is not voted in a second term.

The lies he has been handing out in the past three days have gotten bolder.
I was on the Crow Reservation the week after he visited. They “Adopted” him. He promised them that they would have a secure future in coal. Shortly there after he burned them with a national announcement that he was going to make it hard on Fossil fuel industries. Obama is a disgrace and has no honor. These are sad times for all of us. The twisting of words has grown old.

There will always be a future for coal workers.. well, until it all finally runs out. I for one would like to find other cleaner, healthier and less pollution causing forms of energy BEFORE that happens… Wouldn’t you?

Regardless of competing opinions of WHEN fossil fuels will run out, the fact is one day they WILL. Let’s just stay the course we’re on and quit funding hippy liberal green energy and just pretend they will last forever like good non-thinking Americans. Why lead the world (again) with a technology that really makes America as exceptional in reality as you think it is in fantasy.

I know right wing media doesn’t like to admit that, but I do remember even Fox’s a certian talking head back in the summer of 2008 saying “With an economy this bad I don’t know why ANYONE would wish to be President this election”…

A thinking and rational person remembers history and understand the concept of cause and effect. They also realize where real blame needs to go even if it’s not who they like it being pointed to.

A thoughtless drone gets most if not all their opinions handed to them from someone else without really doing my thinking or research on the topic. They repeat the ignorance as if it is all factual and can even sometimes succeed in getting friends to even believe the nonsense.

I’d probably be out of a job. It’s been just over 3 years since Obama was sworn into office. Yet we still hear “not my fault”. Every president is going to have a problem or 2 that were left to him by a former president. Deal with it.

Sick of hearing that we have no magic solution to energy. If we had a president or congress willing to do something 10, 15, 20 years ago we might not be where we are today. Instead they just pass it on down the line and blame the guy before.

No past girl friends popping up anywhere? Strange – strange to the point of being downright weird! OK, this is just plain old common sense, no political agendas for either side. Just common knowledge for citizens of a country, especially American citizens, who know every little tidbit about every other president (and their wives) that even know that Andrew Jackson’s wife smoked a corn cob pipe and was accused of adultery, or that Lincoln never went to school or Kennedy wore a back brace, or Truman played the piano. We are Americans! Our media vets these things out! Weare known for our humanitarian interests and caring for our ‘fellow man.’ We care, but none of us know one single humanizing fact about the history of our own president.

Honestly, and this is a personal thing… but it’s bugged me for years that no one who ever dated him ever showed up. Taken his charisma, which caused the women to be drawn to him so obviously during his campaign, looks like some lady would not have missed the opportunity. We all know about JFK’s magnetism, McCain was no monk, Palin’s courtship and even her athletic prowess were probed. Biden’s aneurisms are no secret. Look at Cheney and Clinton – we all know about their heart problems. How could I have left out Wild Bill before or during the White House?

Nope… not one lady has stepped up and said, “He was soooo shy,” or “What a great dancer!” Now look at the rest of what we know… no classmates, not even the recorder for the Columbia class notes ever heard of him.Who was the best man at his wedding? Start there. Check for groomsmen. Then get the footage of the graduation ceremony.Has anyone talked to the professors? Isn’t it odd that no one is bragging that they knew him or taught him or lived with him. When did he meet Michele and how? Are there photos?

Every president provides the public with all their photos, etc. for their library. What has he released? Nada – otherthan what was in this so-called biography! And expertswho study writing styles etc. claim it was not O’s ownwords or typical of his speech patterns, etc.Does this make any of you wonder?Ever wonder why no one ever came forward from Obama’s
past, saying they knew him, attended school with him, was his friend, etc? Not one person has ever come forward from his past. This should really be a cause for great concern. Did you see the movie titled, The Manchurian Candidate? Let’s face it. As insignificant as we all are… someone whom we went to school with remembers our name or face… someone remembers we were the clown or the dork or the brain or the quiet one or the bully or something about us.George Stephanopoulos, ABC News said the same thing during the 2008 campaign. Even George questions why no one has acknowledged that the president was in theirclassroom or ate in the same cafeteria or made impromptuspeeches on campus. Stephanopoulos was a classmate of Obama at Columbia-class of 1984. He says he never had a single class with him. Since he is such a great orator, why doesn’t anyone in Obama’s college class remember him? And, why won’t he allow Columbia to release his records? Do you like millions of others, simply assume all this is explainable – even though no one can? NOBODY REMEMBERS OBAMA AT COLUMBIALooking for evidence of Obama’s past, Fox News contacted 400 Columbia University students from the period when Obama claims to have been there, but not one remembers him.

For example,Wayne Allyn Root was (like Obama) a political science major at Columbia, who graduated in 1983. In 2008, Root says of Obama, “I don’t know a single person at Columbia that knew him, and they all know me. I don’t have a single classmate who ever knew Barack Obama at Columbia … EVER!Nobody recalls him.Root adds that he was, “Class of ’83 political science, pre-law” and says, “You don’t get more exact or closerthan that.. Never met him in my life, don’t know anyonewho ever met him.”At our 20th class reunion five years ago, who was askedto be the speaker of the class? Me. No one ever heard ofBarack! And five years ago, nobody even knew who hewas. The guy who writes the class notes, who’s kind ofthe, as we say in New York, ‘the macha’ who knowseverybody, has yet to find a person, a human who evermet him.”Obama’s photograph does not appear in the school’s yearbook, and Obama consistently declines requests to talk about his years at Columbia, provide school records, or provide the name of any former classmatesor friends while at Columbia. How can this be? NOTE: Wayne Allyn Root can easily be verified. He graduated valedictorian from his high school, Thornton-Donovan School then graduated from Columbia Universityin 1983 as a Political Science major in the same ’83 classin which Barack Hussein Obama states he was. Some other interesting questions. Why was Obama’s law license inactivated in 2002?Why was Michelle’s law license inactivated by court order? According to the U.S. Census, there is only one Barack Obama – but 27 Social Security numbers and over 80 aliases…WHAT!? The Social Security number he uses now originated in Connecticut where he is never reported to have lived. No wonder all his records are sealed! Please continue sending this out to everyone. Somewhere, someone had to know him in school… before he “reorganized” Chicago and burst upon the scene at the 2004 Democratic Convention and made us swoon with his charm, poise, and speaking pizzazz.

Obama DID have at least two girlfriends. Their names were Larry Sinclair and Reggie Love.

The trouble is that the people stupid enough to vote for this liar don’t have the sense to know he is lying.

Show me a man who cannot take personal responsibility for his own actions and I’ll show you no man at all.

People! Listen to this POTUS rot. Get your heads on straight. This is a campaigner-in-chief that has, for the last three plus years led out Great Nation down a path of ineptness and experimentation. He is what we call a “loss leader”.. He know not where he is going unless the true goal is to bankrupt the Nation. He believes the American Taxpayer is a credt card that he can use without fear and damage. He has not a clue as to where we go from here or how to lead a real Country. In almost every instance he has appointed, and listens to, complete idiots in his administration. None of these department heads, Justice, Commerce, Treasury, knows what he, or they, is doing.

REPLACE THIS IDIOT, REPLACE THIS ADMINISTRATION OR WE ARE THE NEXT GREECE.

I KNOW IT AND YOU DO TOO.

Instead of a sign saying “The Buck Stops Here” on the fraud’s desk he should have one that says “The BS and Buck-Passing Starts Here.”

A person with character stands up and takes reponsibility for for himself/herself. A person who consitently blames others is still, emotionally and mentally, a child. There was an article on another site yesterday about how some leftist talking head said that the GOP wanted a ‘mean America’. Well, I can see how a childish leftist might think that. After all, generally speaking, conservatives think (not believe) that people should have the opportunity to experience the consequences of their actions. Some call it justice. Some call it simply growing up. Leftists on the other hand rarely, if ever, look at consequences at all.
