President Obama’s Hall of Blame

by Keith Koffler on March 23, 2012, 9:18 am

President Obama has passed the buck to others – mainly George W. Bush – for no less than 13 problems that characterize his presidency, suggesting time and again that his own policies are not to blame for his difficulties and he is simply doing the best that can be done with the cards he was dealt.

Even so, Obama is aggressively staking a claim for successes for which Bush shares significant or nearly all responsibility, including increased drilling for oil and natural gas, the end of the Iraq War, and the killing of Osama Bin Laden.

What follows is a roster of Obama’s efforts to assign blame for 13 problems that prevail or have faced him during his presidency. In several cases, the quotes here are just one or two of many that show Obama passing the buck on a particular issue.

Oil Prices

“The key thing that is driving higher gas prices is actually the world’s oil markets and uncertainty about what’s going on in Iran and the Middle East, and that’s adding a $20 or $30 premium to oil prices.”

- March 23, 2012

Solyndra

“Obviously, we wish Solyndra hadn’t gone bankrupt. Part of the reason they did was because the Chinese were subsidizing their solar industry and flooding the market in ways that Solyndra couldn’t compete. But understand, this was not our program per se. Congress–Democrats and Republicans–put together a loan guarantee program.”

- March 22, 2012

Afghanistan

“When I came into office there has been drift in the Afghanistan strategy, in part because we had spent a lot of time focusing on Iraq instead.  Over the last three years we have refocused attention on getting Afghanistan right.  Would my preference had been that we started some of that earlier?  Absolutely.  But that’s not the cards that were dealt.  We’re now in a position where, given our starting point, we’re making progress.”

- March 14, 2012

Iran

“When I took office, the efforts to apply pressure on Iran were in tatters.  Iran had gone from zero centrifuges spinning to thousands, without facing broad pushback from the world.  In the region, Iran was ascendant.”

- March 4, 2012

The Economy

“We’ve made sure to do everything we can to dig ourselves out of this incredible hole that I inherited.”

- February 23, 2012

The Deficit:

“We thought that it was entirely appropriate for our governments and our agencies to try to root out waste, large and small, in a systematic way. Obviously, this is even more important given the deficits that we’ve inherited and that have grown as a consequence of this recession.”

- November 9, 2011

“When I first walked through the door, the deficit stood at $1.3 trillion, with projected deficits of $8 trillion over the next decade. If we had taken office during ordinary times, we would have started bringing down these deficits immediately.”

- February 1, 2010

The Debt:

“Look, we do have a serious problem in terms of debt and deficit, and much of it I inherited when I showed up.”

- August 8, 2011

“I inherited a big debt.”

- March 29, 2011

Unemployment:

“We inherited the worst recession since the Great Depression, a banking system on the verge of meltdown.  We had lost 4 million jobs by the time I was sworn in and would then lose another 4 million in the few months right after I was sworn in before our economic policies had a chance to take root.”

- May 10, 2011

The BP Gulf Oil Spill

“In this instance, the oil industry’s cozy and sometimes corrupt relationship with government regulators meant little or no regulation at all. When Secretary Salazar took office, he found a Minerals and Management Service that had been plagued by corruption for years –- this was the agency charged with not only providing permits, but also enforcing laws governing oil drilling.”

- May 27, 2010

Decline of the nuclear stockpile

“Among the many challenges our administration inherited was the slow but steady decline in support for our nuclear stockpile and infrastructure, and for our highly trained nuclear work force.” (This one was offered up on Obama’s behalf by Vice President Biden).

- January 29, 2010

The Election of Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.)

“The same thing that swept Scott Brown into office swept me into office. People are angry, and they’re frustrated. Not just because of what’s happened in the last year or two years, but what’s happened over the last eight years.”

- January 20, 2010

Anti-Americanism

“I took office at a time when many around the world had come to view America with skepticism and distrust.  Part of this was due to misperceptions and misinformation about my country.  Part of this was due to opposition to specific policies, and a belief that on certain critical issues, America has acted unilaterally, without regard for the interests of others.  And this has fed an almost reflexive anti-Americanism, which too often has served as an excuse for collective inaction.”

- September 23, 2009

The Financial Crisis

“We inherited a financial crisis unlike any that we’ve seen in our time.  This crisis crippled private capital markets and forced us to take steps in our financial system — and with our auto companies — that we would not have otherwise even considered.”

Using Obama’s silly excuse, err, “logic,” EVERY business that fails can be blamed on the Chinese. In fact, all of the complaining that he did about the economy under Bush is the fault of China and the Chinese Government-loving Democratic Party.

Still, this is even more interesting. He was willing to give half a Billion $$$ because he FAILED to realize simple cost and demand. If the Chinese — that he favors doing business with — were able to produce a product cheaper, then why give $500 Million to a company that couldn’t compete?

It doesn’t take a “Constitutional Professor” (*cough cough one intro-level class for two years cough cough) to figure that out.

LOL, as far as metrics are concerned he’s doing a better job than the last guy no matter what Fox says. Bush was the worst thing that ever happened to this country. He drove us into a ditch and Obama has been pulling us out. Sorry to say, he inherited a disaster no POTUS in history has ever stood in front of. Too many “conservatives” can’t really remember back longer than 3 years. It’s cool, we get it, it’s Obama’s fault that the spoiled little Yalie born in CT perpetrating as a Texan that vanquished our budget surplus and started an unnecessary war that cost trillions. Really! Give me a break for once I would like to see Obama stand up and take responsibility for something. All he can do is blame others during his time in office. He has caused such a divide in this country I’m afraid we will never recover from that. I didn’t always agree with everything Bush did while in office but one thing he did do was take responsibility for his decisions right or wrong. He didn’t pass the buck to other like Obama does.

Bush inherited a military that was absolutely decimated by the Clinton years… then we had to go to war.

I was an avionics tech from 88 to 97. During the Clinton years we basically had summers off. military fuel and maintenance budgets started running dry about June and by July no planes were flying, so they weren’t breaking, so we did not have any work.

Hmmm maybe it was not coincidence that Sept 11 happened in September… the military is Broke in Sept… annual paycheck does not get deposited until Oct 1

There was no Clinton surplus. This is one of the largest myths of the left. See attacehd link. The “surplus” was due to the dot com bubble in 1999 and 2000.

So what you are telling me is that, if you have $10,000 in credit card debt, but you are caught up on your credit card payment and still have $100 in your checking account, and that since the $100 surplus is a surplus is a surplus, you are debt free with a $100 surplus?

Absolutely incredible.

Reply

Portia Allen March 26, 2012 at 9:25 pm

My understanding about the government surplus is it is down the road. Such as if theings keep going down the road for ten years with no chances there will be a surplus. When the dot com bubble burst in 1999 to 2000 that was a crisis that threw a money wrench in the surplus. Those people were rich and then they lost everything. This passed on as a downturn and recession which was left for the Bush administration to deal with. In other words it was surplus on paper depending on nothing going wrong.

Oh yes, that’s nice. Obama took control of GM and gave it to the Union leaders shooting the bird at bond holders in the process. GM should have been allowed to go bankrupt and then resurrect itself. Instead we have the government running an auto maker building Volts that no one want to buy. Obama almost quadrupled the national debt to a level that we will never recover and for what? Netting a few jobs that cost over a million dollars each to sustain? Obama allowed our credit rating to be downgraded – never in the history of the United States, under ANY president has that happened. We are more divided as a nation than we ever have been – again because Obama insists on pitting us against each other. Nationalized healthcare? Do you really want me to bring that up?

BTW, you libtards (self-proclaimed in your case) love to make fun of Texans and yet in GWB case we should chuckle at the fact that he was born in CT and adopted Texas later in life. And yet the fact that he did that is the butt of your joke? Why don’t you just use the fact that he is a Texan and leave it at that? But then again a libtard is never consistent in their lame attacks.

Reply

AVCurmudgeon March 24, 2012 at 11:16 am

I love that: “The Tea Party downgrade”. Were you awake at all during the debt ceiling debacle or did your psychic just channel it for you?
The downgrade happened because the US government continues to spend in excess of revenue, and with this administration in power will continue to do so. Today our national debt exceeds GDP for the first time in history and our budget-conscious President intends to add $1T to the deficit annually over the next 4 years. That’s your downgrade. We Tea Party types would be cutting spending. Just horrible, I know.

Reply

JulesV29 March 24, 2012 at 12:54 pm

Of course, the fact that the Democratic controlled Senate refuses to pass a budget would have nothing to do with the downgrade. Nor would the uncotrolled spending this administration has been doing. Or even Obamacare, estimated by the CBO now to come in at TWICE what was estimated and NONE of the savings promised. Or how about all the spending on “green’ technologies that are no where near ready to replace fossil fuels. Or how about all the borrowing by this administration and raising of the debt limit capiciously? The Tea Party, HAH!! the Tea Party is against all of that and more. Moron.

You state, “hmmm so you are blaming obama for the Tea Party downgrade……interesting.” It sounds as though you are blaming the Tea Party or even the Republicans for it. May be you might be able to understand this, or may be you won’t be able to, so here goes: Not every Democrat blindly follows or likes Mr Obama the way that you do. They are people in EVERY political party that DO NOT LIKE Mr Obama and there are people in EVERY political party that DO LIKE Mr Obama. This is a fact of life, so get over it. And, there has NEVER been and there will NEVER be a president that EVERY ONE likes. This too, is a fact of life, so get over it. And it also seems that a lot of Mr Obama supporters are quick with the race card game. If people don’t like Mr Obama they are “racists”. Or you don’t like him because he is “black”. No, people don’t like him because of his policies, his plans, or his mandates (like making people buy something from a third party – health insurance). Like I stated before, NOT EVERY Democrat blindly follows or likes Mr Obama. And please note, I never called him any names.

Reply

t5: Let me get this straight. You say that YOU VOTED for Mr Bush in 2000 and than you say that “he stole” the election. You can not have it both ways. If it wasn’t for Republicans, Mr Obama would not be able to even run for president. A Republican – Mr. Lincoln freed the slaves. Republicans were all for Civil Rights and the Democrats against them. The 1957 Civil Rights Act and 1960 Civil Rights Act were signed into law by President Eisenhower – a Republican – and rejected by President Truman – a Democrat. And for Al Gore Jr, don’t forget the saying “The acorn doesn’t fall far from the tree.” The 1964 Civil Rights Act law which key Republicans pushed through while key Southern Democrats, like Al Gore Sr. debated against it passage. Seems like the Democrats are the racists ones around here.

Ah, yes… Bush, Fox… blah, blah, blah. The Party of Innocent Bystanders had nothing to do with the housing market bubble that led to the financial meltdown… No matter what one thought of Bush OR Clinton, they were BOTH excoriated by their enemies and critics. They dealt with the slings and arrows as “politics as usual”. They dealt with criticism maturely. This baby has been patronized by white liberals his whole life and adored by as press corps more than willing to compare him to FDR and Lincoln before he stepped into the Oval Office and did something. Yes you are right he did inherit a mess in January 09′ from the Bush administration; however you neglected to add that while previous to his inauguration he as Senator never bothered to sponsor any meaningful legislation. He was just sitting by the wayside to chicken to take a stand on anything in the Senate, so he could run on the Hope and Change. In any other scenario the unqualified Obama would have been trounced by Mickey Mouse himself in any election.

And we are in 2012. What has Obama done to fix America’s debt problems? He has increased the debt in 3 years what it took Bush to do 8.This is not contest here. Obama is way more efficient at overspending the taxpayers money. He can run on hope and change this time and that is why he is going after his power grab.

Reply

Add to that, while a Senator and when the GW Bush administration had asked for an increase in the National Debt limit, Senator Obama gave a speech in which he called the request ‘a sign of poor leadership’ and ‘how unfair it was to put such a financial burden on future generations’.

It is Bush’s fault. His administration didn’t stop an incompetent, unvetted, treasonous socialist from occupying the White House.

‘Tard, you make an excellent case for the old saw “liberalism is a mental disorder.” It’s difficult to work through your post and figure out exactly what it is you’re trying to say. You can’t have it both ways. Either the guy in charge is responsible for what is going on or some other outside force is. Either way you have to apply the same standard to every POTUS during his time. Bush was terrible. However, Obama is an utter disaster. Been in the supermarket lately? Bought gas lately? Probably neither if you’re living in your mom’s basement. Here’s the scoop: Obama and his liberal spreading of the wealth (“Obama Bucks” where you live) is making the dollar worth less and less because the Fed has to print more and more to keep up with Obama’s reckless vote buying. Four more years of this will leave this country completely destitute. We’re already in deep doo. And if you want to talk about needless wars, I am in full agreement. But remember this; Obama said Afghanistan was “the right war” during his campaign rhetoric. And Obama already has us in Syria, Egypt and Libya and God knows where else. We should have been out of Afghanistan two weeks after Bin Laden was executed.

Reply

POTUK March 23, 2012 at 7:52 pm

Some questions for you, if you do not mind. Why is blame attributed to Obama for the price of goods in a supermarket and at the the oil pump. Aren’t the general prices of goods always rising in a free market economy in accordance to market influences such as inflation, productivity et al, so is not natural that the things you mention a controlled by things out of the Presidents power.

Are you dissatisfied with Obama choosing to increase the number of troops in Afghanistan? he did say it was the right war did you agree with him at the time or have you come to believe that the way is erroneous after he took over?

If you could kindly identify when the USA entered the the Egypt and Syria? As for Libya, apart from special forces training the resistance and air support the USA has not been there anywhere on the scale of Afghanistan or Iraq, so my question is do you believe that the USA should not have tried to protect the people of Libya from a man that even Ronald Reegan attempted to extinguish?

Reply

JulesV29 March 24, 2012 at 12:38 pm

Ultimately, when a President (using the term loosely in this case) allows or instructs the Fed to run day and night for 3 years printing money that decreases the value of a dollar. It’s called inflation and what we are seeing right now is simple inflation, which is eventually going to turn into Super Inflation and THEN prices will be so far out of reach you won’t be able to afford food, much less gas. So,YES, this is Obama’s fault.

Obama took us into war with Libya without the consent of Congress. W had consent, right or wrong, he had the consent of Congress. Our Republic follows a law set by the U.S. Constitution, which your “savior” neglects to follow. In fact, he wants to get rid of the Constitution and set up a dictatorship. Is that what you libtards are waiting for? Do you really think that he won’t get rid of all you useful idiots along with the patriots who defend the Constitution? It would be foolish to think that you would be safe. After he had no use for you, you will also be done away with.

I forgot to address your issues on the Middle East. Prior to the start of the Iraq war, CNN had video on television showing the WMD, and later there was video of those same weapons being trucked out in Agricultural trucks. but, of course, you would believe the re-written liberal media story. As far as removing political leaders–it seems to me that Obama has used our military to remove leaders that stand in the way of the Muslim Caliphate. We have no business involving our military men and women in helping the Muslim world to get their fantasy utopia set up. If you bothered to look beyond the pointy end of your nose, you would actually put the pieces together and see what is happening here.

You on the left find plenty of fault with “W” for him trying to protect the Iraqi people from Saddam. But I guess you felt it necessary for you to protect Saddam, at the time, since he was a fellow Socialist.

Obama knocked the Iraq war as a war of choice. What was Libya? A war of necessity? What was our compelling national interest there?

Ronald Reagan didn’t specifically try to take out Qaddafi. Our intelligence wasn’t that good. Those strikes were in retaliation for the bombing of a Berlin discotheque that US servicemen frequented. Several US servicemen were killed as a result.

if you want to blame anyone for the meltdown in George Bush’s presidency, let’s begin with Barney Frank, Chris Dodd and a bunch of the other guilt-ridden whites, who brought us the community reinvestment act and all the things that led to fannie and freddie lowering their standards until anyone could get a mortgage.

Oh you are so right retard there was no 9/11, no Katrina and you had no Homeland Security to create. But, somehow Bush without a word of complaint about “what he inherited” kept the country employed for 7 1/2 years and safe since then, despite the attempts to attack this country. Yes, there were abuses in the system but, whose fault was the dissolution of Glass-Steagall and the implementation of Oxley-Sarbanes? Who owned Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac? As for Iraq, they broke the cease fire, the no fly zone and would not allow inspectors into their country as per the agreement. That was a war approved by the U.N. and the U.S. congress. How Obama has the nerve to criticize George Bush is beyond reason. First, theoretically he took the job knowing the conditions of the country, fiscally and at war. If he couldn’t do the job why did he take it and if he took it how can he blame others? He had a Democrat controlled house and senate for the first two years of his presidency. Instead of taking care of employment and fiscal discipline, he blew more in the first two years than Bush did in eight. Now he is making excuses? Why not just say , “Hey mon, it’s not my job.” What you fail to recognize is he is incompetent, lazy and ill-prepared to lead a Boy Scout troop, never mind this great nation. And worse, he has not grown one iota since taking office. You want to know why? Because he sees everything as him. No president was ever so egocentric as to frame everything as a personal pronoun.

Tell me what was the unemployment during the Bush presidency? It’s more than doubled under Obama and that’s not even including the people they stopped counting because they’ve given up looking for work and/or run out of unemployment benefits. What was the national debt under Bush? Obama has quadrupled the debt in less than 3 years. How many home were being foreclosed under Bush? Obama’s foreclosure record is an all-time-high.
At what point do you stop blaming the previous guy and take responsibility yourself? That’s the problem with liberals, they never want to take responsibility… it’s always someone else’s fault… Someone else needs to pay for my stuff… don’t blame me, it was that other guy and on, and on.
One last thing, Obama didn’t “inherit” anything. He wanted the job, he campaigned for the job and he got the job. Now all he wants to do is blame the previous job-holder for his failings. He also had two years of Democrat super majorities in Congress to get what he wanted…. hasn’t worked out very well now has it?

Reply

Obama didn’t inherit nothing. He campaigned for it. Told Americans he was the man for the job. Claimed he wanted the economy and problems. Not to mention that the problems were caused by Democrats who took control in 2007. Notice 15 months after Dodd/Frank took control of the Senate Banking and House Financial Service Committees, we had the financial and housing crisis. (You liberal seem to love revision and lack civics knowledge).

Obama inherited a lower unemployment rate, lower deficits, lower poverty, lower gas prices and a triple A credit rating. All the numbers are now are worse than before Obama took office. Got a defense for these things?

The problem with being a liberal is that eventually you run out of other people’s money to spend. Bush was one of the most socially conservative presidents we have ever had. Bush made some mistakes like No Child Left Behind and the Patriot Act which had good intentions but were inefficient as a whole. Obama is taking things one step further by calling on corporations to spend more money by meeting regulations that were brought upon companies by the Dodd Frank bill. This kills job opportunities that those companies would create while also giving more power to the government. As more people are brought in on the government payroll their question switches from “how can I better myself?” to “how little work can I do and still receive a government check?” Obama is making Americans lazier as a whole by claiming that the government is better at working for them than they are working for themselves.

“It’s not my fault . . . it’s the other guys!”

What President Obama thinks . . .

March 22, 2012

Dear President Obama,

May I ask you a question. If you win on November 6, 2012, in your inaugural speech, who will you blame for the mess we are in? Your children? The American people? Rush Limbaugh? Me? Mr. Obama we know whose fault this is. We know who is stepping on the breaks of economic growth. Blame is something that is fascinating to me. I’ve met all sorts of people in my life and I find that blame is a tough thing for many to handle because in blame there is something to do with taking responsibility for how one behaves, and that’s a rough deal for some.

What do Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Lyndon Baines Johnson both have in common? Don’t go for the easy answer Mr. Obama . . . go for the long ball. They both advanced the socialist ball down the field and passed on that bill to the next generation. Then the Supreme Court violated the Constitution by buying into the twisted scam and then more and more liberal democrats continued on with the scam, and now here we are at the end of the road. Bankrupt. At war. Divided. Leaderless.

But it’s worse then that. We have a President. You. That takes credit for the efforts of others. Seal Team Six comes to mind. All the while denying your mistakes. Oh sure you make some nebulous comment to some easy ears about mistakes, but a guy like you, doesn’t mean it, and when you are called on the particulars, you just flub it and say an increasingly comical version of “it’s not my fault.” Not to mention a Massachusetts Liberal is about to win the nomination of the Republican Party, and to those who disagree, do you not think that the voters in Massachusetts would have figured out if Mr. Romney was a conservative, let alone a Republican? He’s own people think he is an “etch a sketch.” I know I’ll get drunk and vote for him too, twice if I can find an ACORN worker to show me how.

A man stands for the most important job on Earth. The Presidency of The United States of America. For a moment, not that I could, but let’s say we could switch places now. Is there any debate as to what I would do and what you have chosen not to? After 3 years of writing you letters. Debate is not an issue that would come up. Only action. We would be building, pardoning tax payers and job creators, drilling, deciding if siding with one side of the muslim/arab coin is worth it and if the American people want to bleed and die for Islam anymore, getting the engine of America in gear and moving ahead as rapidly as humanly possible. It wouldn’t be me following the American people. It would be me leading them where they tell me they want to go.

I thought that’s what Presidents were supposed to do? Do they make a Presidential GPS? Because you are in dire need of one for Christmas. Do you celebrate Christmas?

Respectfully,

Joe Doakes

Fluking 101 . . .

March 3, 2012

Dear President Obama,

I want to commend you for calling up Ms. Fluke and trying to comfort her after those of your ilk so successfully and publicly fluked her without the benefit of protection, let alone paying for it, you sir are an officer and a gentleman, and that Mrs. Pelosi is a real lady for putting a person of her gender in such a compromising position. All of you should be proud of yourselves for prostituting this young woman for political purposes. I’m not perfect, and will never make any aires about that. But I will never make another citizen pay for my stupidity. If I fluke up. That’s on me. It’s my problem.

You see; what has gone on for too long is making common everyday responsibilities of individuals the prevue of the government. As a father and a husband I have some basic jobs. Shelter. Food on the table. Hold down a job. Be a good father by raising my children to not behave like Ms. Fluke, but if they do to be there for them come h*ll or high water. My old man taught me by experience that your child is your responsibility even if in their opinion you are a moron. In Ms. Flukes case she made some voluntary decisions, she decided to fluk with what ever “Tom, Dick, or Harry” she found attractive. Cool. Been there done that. Got the T-Shirt and the love letters from the chicks. One ought not kiss and tell though, when did that go out of style? Then she voluntarily decided to make a spectacle of her fornicating, while advocating every citizen pay for it. Ok. I’ve read that EBT cards are accepted at strip clubs now. So if we are paying for lap dances and beer,; why not pay for Ms. Flukes fluking?

I’ll tell you why. Because if trillions in debt, and trillions in deficit, plus a decades long war for one side of the same muslim/arab coin is not enough for a society to deal with what is necessary in some right and proper way. Then let’s all fluke our brains out. In fact tomorrow I’m going to apply for food stamps get my EBT card and go hit my favorite strip club and make a video and post it on youtube! And with free abortion we don’t even need the protection any more! Bad humor aside. What about all the veterans, what about all the people, who legitimately need our tax dollars? What about the mentally disabled guy that died because his 86 year old father died after spending his whole life taking care of him? He died of starvation because his father died in the apartment with him. I guess social services dropped the ball on that one! You see liberals don’t understand something. We don’t care who you fluke. How you fluke. When you fluke or with what hand. Whether or not your alone fluking with your iphone on vibrate. Have at it. But in the end, after the fluking is over. You better have enjoyed it. Because some poor bXXXXXd has paid for with an eye, a leg, or his life.

Respectfully,

Joe Doakes

MrO’s propaganda video explains everything; they didn’t believe that MrO would actually win the Presidency, but he did, and only then realized that the Repubs had handed them a domestic quagmire and a war with no end.
A President with limited experience in politics, none at all in foreign affairs and a tilted view of America and it’s people was now in the hot seat and expected to make all things well again. He simply didn’t have any reasonable plan to make things better, so he cast the blame for his ineptness on GWBush and a claim of “inheriting” the financial white elephant that would eventually be his main excuse for everything.

With no real political experience on a national scale where compromise is currency, MrO tried to diminish his political opponents with ridicule and a aloof attitude towards those he needed to help him. The Repubs retaliated with a passive/agressive attitude toward anything that would allow MrO to appear competent to steer our country out of the mess that the previous administrations, both Dem and Repub, had allowed to go unchecked.

All he has left is to point the fingers of blame everywhere except back to himself.
He blames his political opponents, foreign matters, industries he doesn’t understand and the American people. Earthquakes somewhere other than here, tsunamis headed away from the US, international banking rules, unrest anywhere in the world, nothing goes without blame to cover his incompetence .
He simply was not and has not become “Presidential material”.

September 20, 2011

Dear President Obama,

Since we are not privy to your grades, we are unable to determine whether or not you actually can do math. But, let’s assume for the sake of this letter you can. Math in a real sense is simple one plus one equals ten. Oh wait, that is liberal math, my apologies, if I keep making mistakes like that I’ll be investing, I mean losing, half a billion borrowed dollars in a solar company soon, would not want to do that. We are a gazillion dollars in debt and deficit, if we add more to it we will be a gazillion plus that much. Wait, I made a mistake, time for the red pen, in your world I have to go bankrupt to create jobs. Makes complete sense to a guy like you and Mr. Biden.

Last night I decided to continue my at home education regarding the subject of math. I would like to use the big m&m’s, but time are tough so we buy the small ones. So there we are at the kitchen table, and I ask a question. “Why did the m&m company make those m&m’s?” The response “ . . . to make a profit . . .” I’ve got that lesson squared away, check that box for good parenting. Then I said “Well . . . what if you were running the m&m company and you could only make seven m&m’s and the government came and took all seven, would you make more?” The response, I’m very proud to say, was “No.” At this point in the lesson I’m one proud father. So I decide to go for the long ball. “What if the government takes one? Would that be ok?” The response “I think so, that’s not too much, o.k.”

So why is it I can teach a child about economics, math, and tax policy; but I’m unable to get more citizens to understand how incentives function in the free market and how taxes are structured not to pay for the things we can’t do for ourselves, but to keep a small cadre of liberal democrats and RINO Republicans in power. It frustrates me to no end. Maybe if I run for office I should bring a bowl of m&m’s? If I get elected I will be known as the m&m President! Then I can go to schools all across this blessed land with my bowl and teach children, while giving them copious amounts of m&m’s to eat, math and economics all in one shot. It’s a win win:)

Mr. Obama the jig is up. All that is left is the paperwork. On November 6, 2012 we issue the last of a two part restraining order to this socialist nightmare and we will be applying the m&m standard to every law and regulation on the books. Just like every business in America does. One exception. The Federal Government, that racket has special protection, not for long . . .

January 21, 2012

Dear President Obama,

With all of this time on my hands from the economy being in the toilet, I’ve tried to remain productive. Recently, I cleaned out my attic and a came upon boxes of memories that I have accumulated through my lifetime. Photographs, “love letters,” a couple of matchbox cars that must be worth something now, a Tonka truck my grandfather and I painted one day when he came home from work. Think about that. My Grandfather. World War 2 Veteran of 39 missions in a B-24 Liberator. Worked. Anyway, don’t tell the EPA, but this truck is full of leaded paint, and I used my fingers, and I’m doing fine. Considering when I was young I used to melt the crayons in the humidifier, I probably drank some of the paint if I was thirsty. Regardless, all of this stuff gets me thinking.

Where’s your pile? Where are all of those people for the liberal left networks to interview that knew you when? I’ve got tons. Never been to good at keeping in touch with people, and I regret that, but I would imagine even the old puppy love flames would remember me and they would not think too badly of me. The college friends. The high school ones. The people I knew at work. All of those people if they heard my name they would wonder at a minimum what happened to that guy. I guess I could do Facebook, but that’s not my thing, then their is that Linkedin thing, again not my thing, if that’s your thing, that’s cool. It’s a free country, but it will not be when “Obamacare” kicks in, and then all of what President Reagan foretold in his speech in 1961 with regard to socialized medicine will be well on it’s way to coming true. Google or Bing that when you get the chance. It is a great dissertation on how the liberal left operates and Mr. Reagan provides excellent instruction on how to fight back with nothing more than a letter. If you are looking for someone to blame for all of these letters, you could pin it all on Mr. Reagan, and it’s my honor to do what he cannot.

Which brings me to the South Carolina primary. Like I said, many times before the only way to get this nation back in some semblance of normalcy, is to get Republicans back in charge pronto. In 2010 we did a real good job of that, and in 2012 we will again no matter who gets the nomination of the Republican party. But, if I had my way, and I was in South Carolina, I’d be voting for Newt Gingrich. The reason is my attic, and all of those memories of one life that I tried to do the best I could with, even though I blew it more times than not, a lot of reasons for that, but now is not the time or the place. Newt has lived a full life. He has seen the ups the downs, and he has faced the consequences of bad judgement. Never trust a man who has never lost something. Mr. Obama what have you lost? Ever lose an honest election? Ever have one?

It would be some debate watching Mr. Gingrich or Mr. Santorum oppose you and Mr. Romney oppose Mr. Biden. The contrast there is striking. It would be good for America, and it would be good down the ballot, everybody wins, well, not everybody.

:)

The big o must never have had to take responsibility for anything in his entire pathetic life. And 52% of this nation elected him president over a war veteran, an experienced senator, and a man whose life has been dedicated to the US for this loser who never did anything and evidently hates America.

To end this madness: VOTE ANYBODY BUT OBAMA IN 2012.

Hey The reason obama received 52% of the vote and was elected is because Rush and certain factions of our beloved party swift boated Mccain. We have 4 years to prep and we come out with this piss poor field of candidates. The same goofs who swift boated McCain are swift boating Romney. We have ourselves to blame and will have our selves to blame when we let Obama win again.

Reply

Susan March 23, 2012 at 12:02 pm

As long as the establishment Republicans keep trying to push moderates on America they will continue to lose. Moderates have no core, no set principles they believe in. They roll with the polls. McCain is a big government Republican, hence his loss to his virtual equal. Romney brings his big government, top down control, granddaddy to Obamacare to the table. If he’s the best the establishment can come up with, then we are destined for another failure. I don’t blame conservatives for this, I blame the establishment and their desire to maintain control of the party over the welfare of the country.

Star March 23, 2012 at 12:14 pm

I don’t even know who the establishment is, Susan–Karl Rove? Krauthammer? Romney says he will move to repeal the health thing. He he flat-out lied, then we are in trouble again. I am taking him at his word. I think he will put his head down and work–he isn’t power hungry and isn’t doing this for the lobster or the money. I think he will stay out of the social areas, which are not the govt’s business anyway in my view. As you know, that is my take. He gets my vote and all the ideology about establishment etc in the world will not change my mind.

Reply

Susan March 23, 2012 at 12:57 pm

You’ve already made up your mind (as have I), but you asked about the establishment. In my opinion it is made up of both Republicans and Democrats and they reside in the bubble between D.C. and New York. They don’t give a whit about the country or you or me, they care only about power and which side of the aisle controls the levers of government. They don’t want to reduce the size of government, they want to maintain it.

This American Thinker article gives the best analysis in my opinion…

I meant the Republican establishment–you seem to think anything “they” want is bad. Yes, I think a relatively small number of influencers, rich people, quiet cabals or whatever do hold most of the controls in this country, in the larger sense. I actually think Romney would be outside that group, being a Mormon… Certainly the other candidates would be. And even Obama, I think, was kind of commandeered temporarily.

Reply

Susan March 23, 2012 at 8:41 pm

Romney has been anointed by the Bush dynasty – the epitome of establishment Republicans. I don’t think everything “they” (establishment) want is bad – they just want big, fat, bloated liberty-stealing government.

Obama is not working for America. There is no accomodation that can be made to make him acceptable. He must be fired.

Ending a con . . .

October 12, 2010

Dear President Obama,

Do you like movies? I sure do. Right now I’m thinking of one in particular called “The Sting.” In this movie a ragtime era band of con artists stage a scam on whole bunch of mobsters, I even think it was set in Chicago, it all goes south by the end of it, but it is a great film. The federal government has similar problems, and will come to a similar end, but it won’t be the FBI it will be “We The People” who come rushing in to stop it.

Remember this though, all cons end hard, really hard, for the last man holding the bag.

Mr. Obama right now you’ve got the bag. Actually you’ve had the bag for 23 months. That’s a long time to spend lying, cheating, and stealing. But for you these are skills you have honed over a lifetime, and it shows. Bernie Maddoff has nothing on you and the rest of the Ruling Class. Yet, just like Mr. Maddoff, you and the rest of the Democrats started a few cons that are not exactly panning out shall we say. What is the barometer of a financial con gone wrong? Debt and deficits. Now when you run a con you have two choices, you can either take legitimate paper, and substitute in fake paper, or you can continually con wealthier, and wealthier people. Mr. Maddoff did both. The federal government does both too, one exception, it does it under the color of law, and with deadly force in keep everyone in line. Mr. Maddoff’s, while terrible, was a voluntary exercise.

As my old man use to say. “Joe, We can do this the easy way, or the hard way.” The citizens of The United States of America are saying much the same to you Mr. Obama. I don’t pick the hard way anymore and you keep picking it, it’s like you’ve got more than a screw loose. On November 2, 2010 though, the American people are going to bring down the hammer on your pinko commie socialist enterprise with a passion. In fact, by the time we get done with you, you are going have to politically blow air to find which way is up.

On November 3, 2010 you will have one final chance. Please do not blow it. I have very little confidence that you will do the right thing, but I’ve got to have hope that you will change:)

Respectfully,

Joe Doakes

They live in Mr. Obama’s and Mr. Romney’s rectums . . . we call this “head up a$$” disease, and it is fatal . . .

:)

December 22, 2011

Dear President Obama,

If Mitt Romney is threatening to deport your uncle; Can you threaten to give him an IRS audit of his illegal landscapers? Also, as a personal favor to me, I really want the CIA to answer this question; How much rice is it costing the Communist Chinese to pay for all of those crocodiles tears from the abused North Koreans? Because, at this point, I imagine some guy in a rice patty is busting his rump, thinking, “enough of this crap, the SOB was a duech bag while he was alive, and it’s a good thing that he is dead!” Well, if this is not a sign of the times I certainly do not know what is. A real live Mel Brooks movie, that’s what this is . . . Eric Holder even thinks that we are politically attacking him because he is not white. That’s funny. Why would we politically attack a guy who ok’d selling guns to known criminals to track them with devices fashioned from technology found at Radio Shack? When in doubt play the race card, the class card, or any other card just so long as we avoid the truth. Maybe I could be a liberal yet!

Another question. Does the wife go because she wants to or because she has to? Meaning this. Husbands and wives tend to stick together. But over and over again she jumps off like a hot tomalley. One wonders if all is well in Camelot? Maybe if you dug up Richard Burton and made him sing a few bars life would be grand again. Doubt it though. There is hope though! Mitt Romney does not even have the stones to call you a socialist! That’s rich. Even a plumber knows one when he sees one:) But good old Mitt? No way brother! The fly in this ointment is he can’t call you one without being one himself; considering his record in Massachusetts! Gingrich may have sat on that couch with Nancy, but at least he didn’t lay in it with her. Old Mitt painted himself red and hammer and sickle all over when he was governor of Massachusetts, what is he thinking? That a Massachusetts governor can win a primary in the Republican Party by running harder against Newt then he is going to run against you? Everyone is telling me that Romney is smart, I’m still waiting for the proof.

In the history of the world part 1 there is this great scene. “Moses” is coming down from the mountain with 15 commandments from God. As he is walking he drops one as he is yelling out the good news that he has received these dictates from God “These 15, (drops one tablet) these 10 commandments!” One no longer has to wonder what was on that other tablet! Clearly it was the exculpatory clauses that permit people like you and Romney to lie with such mellifluous ease that not even the notions truth, justice, or the American way ought to ever impede on both of your missions to socialize a country that was founded in direct opposition to that economic philosophy. But, as they say, “it’s a free country,” and if you can convince a group of people to give you either their vote or their money, no one is going to stop you, even if your lying, and especially, if you want to use a solar power company to launder money!

Have any of you even considered the possibility, remote as it may be, that our problems are tough enough even when we tell the truth, and we make them far, far, worse by lying and playing these games?

In 2010 we issued a restraining order. In 2012 we will issue an eviction order. As for your Uncle he can stay. He is the only one who is doing anything in this nation that makes a lick of sense considering the shape you put us in.

Respectfully,

Joe Doakes
