    • Watched the trailer and that looks to be a patriotic movie that honors our military. Is it possible that Hollywood is starting to see the light?

  1. Hey! I stayed in the Jefferson a while back for a pub crawl in DC. It and the Mayflower were similarly close to the start point, but I chose the Jefferson because I was deeply afraid of winding up in Eliot Spitzer’s old room.

Also, if you’re in the area, there’s a great little Belgian place called St. Arnold’s on Jefferson. Get an order of the Mussels St. Arnold’s (one is enough for two!). My sort-of girlfriend was excessively pleased with my choice.

  2. I worked in a restaurant and met a Tuskegee Airman and his wife he had been giving talks in schools. What an honor and such an interesting lesson in history. Sadly I think Obama is doing this for all the wrong reasons and shame
on him because these men deserve better they put up with a lot to serve our
country. There aren’t many of the Greatest Generation left to learn from sadly

    • Lizzy, sadly, I think you are correct. Yes, Barry is doing it for all of the wrong reason’s. He being a anti-colonialist that loathes the military and sees it as a tool of colonialism, especially during WWII (which the Tuskegee Airman faught in), I find it very suspious that he is doing this. He doesn’t care about these men nor does he care about the Tuskegee Airman. If he cares about Tuskegee, it is more about the Tuskegee syphilis experiment than about these airmen. To me, this is more about trying to look black and appear to relate to the black world that he was never apart of. Remember during the ’08 campain that he traveled to Selma during the anniversary of the Selma March and stood in the doorway of the church with the New Black Panthers and ‘talked the talk’? He has always been accused of not “being black enough” from the black community. Remember he is in full campaign mode so everything, EVERTHING is geared to get him re-elected.

    • Lizzy, you call them the greatest generation..and they are in many ways but they are also the generation that brought us the hippies of the 60’s that have now turned into the communist of the 2000’s…..so though they did great things, they also UCK’d a few things up.

      just sayin

      • I am not crazy about Brokaw’s meal ticket expression, either. These are my parents–yes, they were for the most part straight-laced, saved money, but they also had a set path to follow, the economy after the war picked up, they sort of went in lockstep. I also don’t care for the trend now to disparage other generations in comparison. I interview scientists and thinkers in my work–there are plenty of “great” people in my generation and the ones coming up. They go to war, they build families, the good good works, and they try to cope with economic conditions… As for this comment, I am the follow-on generation and I don’t consider myself a product of ucking up.

  3. Didn’t Jay-Jay say he was spending less than 5% of his time campaining? Jefferson Hotel in the middle of the day on the taxpayer’s dime? I read WHD every day – first thing I read in the morning and last thing I read at night. I cannot remember the last time I saw an entry for meeting with the Cabinet. Keith – when was it?? Also, what are the daily meeting with “senior advisers”? Are the “senior advisers” the czars who run the show while he plays at being _resident???

  4. Seriously, what would this faux fop do with another four years??? 90% of his time is spent on campaigning/vacationing – he will be a fish out of water. I suppose he could spend the next 4 years checking out castles and country clubs/golf courses for his ‘retirement’. If Rahm is still Mayor, I’m sure the MOOCH will not be moving back to ChiTown. Maybe they will just purchase the entire island of Oahu!

  5. President George W. Bush presents the Congressional Gold Medal to Dr. Roscoe Brown Jr., during ceremonies honoring the Tuskegee Airmen Thursday, March 29, at the U.S. Capitol. Brown, Director of the Center for Urban Education Policy and University Professor at the Graduate School and University Center of the City University of New York, commanded the 100th Fighter Squadron of the 332 Fighter Group during World War II.
WASHINGTON (American Forces Press Service, March 29, 2007) – Before a U.S. aircraft broke the sound barrier, the Tuskegee Airmen overcame a
daunting social hurdle: breaking the Army Air Corps’ color barrier.

George W Bush was the first to honor these men not that they don’t deserve all the honor they can get but don’t let Obama let folks think,he’s the first!

In the Capitol Rotunda here today, President Bush and Congress awarded the Congressional Gold Medal to the Tuskegee Airmen, more than 60 years after the 332nd Fighter Group’s World War II achievements that were made bittersweet by the racial discrimination they endured after returning home.

  6. Another hard day a fund raiser he always seems to be around black people why is this its his support base he knows that he is not going to be elected again so he will do nothing spend like a drunken sailor and party this piece of crap sucks he is useless and has destroyed America good morning home land security to you also ,how does this useless piece of garbage live with hiself why people suffer everyday and whats the big deal about this movie oh ya its about blacks thats why

  7. The way I look at it is there are 3 pieces to the budget puzzle: the House, Senate and President. The preponderance of blame falls on whichever party controls 2 or more of these institutions. Democrats have been in control of the majority of the budget process for almost 5 years.

  8. Another racial thing. Another Hollywood thing. Another “I”m the BLACK President and my wife Moochy loves those photo ops with celebs” day.

This guy is getting to be like O.J. Simpson who spent all his time looking for his wife’s murderer on the golf course. Obama seems to think there’s a stash of jobs somewhere on the green.

  9. Why is Obama on my tv….it’s not on the schedule ! ;) He’s blaming Nixon and Reagan about something? Making no sense…..did his teleprompter break?

  10. now the messiah wants to do a reagan like power thing why oh ya its election year kiss my A$$ obozo you will use any tatic to try and get a vote you scum ball

  11. Suppose a new movie comes out that tells the story of millions of hard-working, law-abiding Americans who quietly go to work each day and contribute more in taxes over their lifetimes than they will ever take back in benefits. Too bad the panderer-in-chief wouldn’t hold a Friday afternoon screening for them. The Tuskegee Airmen were indeed part of the greatest generation, but Obama’s pandering to blacks through them is disgusting.

I continue to wonder when the black community at large will see through him.
