The Obama Morning News || August 19, 2011

by Keith Koffler on August 19, 2011, 7:54 am

President Obama has headlined 127 fundraising events, compared to 88 by George W. Bush and 76 by Bill Clinton at this point in their terms.

Obama and others are gambling that voters will see GOP’s stance on not raising taxes as recalcitrant and out-of-touch.  Office of Management and Budget Director Jack Lew wants agencies to make 5 to 10 percent reductions for 2013.

Obama said he doesn’t think the U.S. is in danger of a double dip recession.

The president left on vacation to Martha’s Vineyard, where he’s expected top bike, golf, and eat ice cream. A White House spokesman who defends Obama’s vacation today criticized Bush for his in 2005.

Vice President Biden told the Chinese they had “nothing to worry about” concerning the safety of its vast holdings of Treasury debt.

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) says blacks want Obama to get tough.

Rick Perry said evolution is a “theory” that’s “got some gaps in it.” Jon Huntsman responded: “I believe in evolution … call me crazy.”

Attacks by former aides to George W. Bush may help Perry with the Tea Party.

The White House claimed it waited so long to call for Syrian President Assad’s ouster because it was building an international consensus.

Obama said he doesn’t think the U.S. is in danger of a double dip recession.

Yes its so hard for the king who shuttles from limo to aircraft to limo..
He thinks a depression is something which forms in the gulf of mexico….a recession is a long cigarette & beer break from meetings…
As he raises his full glass of champaign ,many of us “folks” are looking at an empty economy. Full of distress, heartache, and loss of incomes.
So I ‘ll raise my plastic cup of tap water to the royalty on Marthas Vineyard who will “eat, drink, and be barry”.

CongWaters’s racist rant has no place in today’s society. By insisting that the President attend to the wants of the people who are Black and “do more” for the Black people is racist and un-American.
Racism is MayorNutter of Philadelphia addressing the Black youths who were responsible for the “flash mobs” and criminal activities by accusing them of dishonoring their “race”. If the Mayor were White and the flash mobs were White youths, no mention would have been made of their dishonoring their “race” but only of their criminal activity.
Separate, but equal is the very idea that the FreedomFighters and Civil Rights activists fought against, but seems to be the ideal for American Blacks today.

The Dems insistance on raising the taxes on the rich isn’t about raising more money for the government to spend at will, but is the opening salvo in the redistrubution of wealth and class warfare that the Left thinks will make America a better place. Separate, but equal is the very idea that the FreedomFighters and Civil Rights activists fought against, but seems to be the ideal for American Blacks today.

Totally agree srdem. If you haven’t heard Rep. Allen West’s response to Rep Waters’ rant, it is an eyeopener.

Agreed. The “tax the rich” mantra always sounds good. Unfortunately, even “the rich” will run out of money. And will we not eventually run out of “rich”? Then what?

Just2old August 19, 2011 at 9:11 am

That reminds me of a quote attributed to Margaret Thatcher goes along the lines of

“The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money [to spend].”

This just in: O is the WORST prez ever.
He should stay away golfing, like he’s doing today, FOREVER!

sportinlife10 August 19, 2011 at 9:57 am

Re the o’s vacation: Not only is the Administration transparent, but now the president is invisible, given the media blackout.
Great line from Powerline: “A President can recover from lots of things, but I am not sure he can recover from being a laughingstock.”

“International Coalition”? Comprised of which nations, exactly, and why wasn’t this coalition mentioned in his declaration that Assad must step down?

So where was the family? All I saw was Obama, Reggie Love & the dog, Bo. Don’t tell me they took separate planes and all the attendant motorcades to Martha’s Vineyard.

Bo has his own ultralight.
