As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

Obama Schedule || July 8, 2011

The president continues his series interviews with reporters from local stations in battleground states, most of whom will pitch him softballs while getting him on the air in key markets.

Also some hand holding Friday with Nancy Pelosi, who probably feels deeply excluded as the deficit reduction talks have perked along. With some Republicans likely to vote against raising the ceiling once the Republican leaders compromise on taxes, President Obama may need her to deliver Democratic votes.

10:00 am || Meets with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi
11:30 am || Interviewed by WISN Milwaukee, WTAE Pittsburgh, KING Seattle and WTVD Raleigh-Durham about the economy

All times Eastern
Live Stream of Carney briefing at 11:00 am

  1. Keith, thanks for the video. Interesting. Obama is somewhat lacklustre nowadays. Oh, I don´t want the US to default but I don´t want Obama to get any credit for anything. On the contrary. I hope the conservatives play this situation well.

  2. It just breaks my heart that Pelosi feels excluded from the discussions. Has anyone told her that the progressives LOST the House and she is not Speaker anymore?

    The only reason that BHO will include her, even in the least way, is for votes. Besides golfing, this is what he is most focused on.

    • Thats right Russell, our little campaign creature is like Pacman..
      going wildly in any direction gobbling up votes wherever he can..
      And thats ALL that matters to him now.. golf would be a close second..

  3. My guess is there is going to be more than a few Republicans voting against raising the debt ceiling. Many freshman lawmakers are very unhappy with the way this is going down with all the secret negotiations. The Republicans promised us they would do things different and they are sliding right back into to Washington as usual. Boehner is going to have a much more difficult time selling them his snake oil this time around.
