Holder May be Held in Contempt of Congress

It seems that Attorney General Holder could be held in contempt of Congress by House Oversight and Government Reform Committee for failing to provide documents requested by Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) in his investigation of the bungled Operation Fast and Furious.

In one of the most underreported news items of the year, the administration stands accused of stonewalling the probe into the operation, in which American guns as part of a sting were provided to Mexican drug cartels – but the guns ended up being used to kill an American border agent.

Holder and President Obama say they didn’t authorize the operation, and Obama says he didn’t even know about it. Issa wants to know exactly who knew what and when. Here’s some video on the issue from Fox.

Can you imagine the coverage of this if it were the Bush administration??

H/T to Ed Morrissey over at Hot Air, where I first saw this.

  1. I agree with Beringse…I’ve grown weary of all these would-be scandals that always seem to fizzle out because the MSM ignores them. Barry and Co. will slide again.

  2. the rest of us hold him in contempt already, so that’s great that Congress is considering it.

    haha. I’m a laff riot.

seriously, it couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.

  3. The Obama appointees don’t seem to have a lot of respect for the checks and balance system that is part of our democracy. It’s past time for Congress to show some spine and forcefully bring these issues out in the open.

  4. Maybe someone in the WH “press” corps could ask about this…? I understand Propaganda Sec. Carney WILL NOT ANSWER but it would interesting to see him squirm/prattle on/lie about this issue more than usual.

Or is this one of the many topics & issues MSM “journalists” are told NOT to ask/research because it might embarass Obama…and a “journalist” who embarasses Obama is quickly persona non grata, correct?
