As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

The Obama Morning News || June 1, 2011

The House rejected a debt ceiling increase in a bipartisan 317-98 vote. House Republicans will meet with Obama at the White House today to discuss the issue. More than 150 economists backed Speaker Boehner’s call to match any increase in the debt limit with spending cuts of equal size

Meanwhile, the number of limousines in the federal government has grown 73 percent since President Obama took office, with Hillary Clinton’s State Department leading the way.

An economy stuck in low gear may hurt Obama in 2012, writes POLITICO.

Sarah Palin was mobbed on Day three of her mystery bus tour. After stops in Gettysburg and Philadelphia, she made it to New York City where she and Donald Trump went out for pizza in Times Square. Chris Christie told Iowa donors he still won’t run.

Departing Defense Secretary Robert Gates says he may have become “too cautious.”

Obama nominated former electric utility executive John Bryson to be Commerce Secretary, but Republicans vowed to hold up to appointment, demanding Obama submit pending free trade agreements for a vote first.

And the president will award the Medal of Honor to Sgt. 1st Class Leroy Arthur Petry, an Army sergeant who lost his hand in Afghanistan when he tried to toss an enemy grenade away from himself and two colleagues.

  1. The best part of Palin’s tour is watching the old media foam at the mouth over it. They say she’s stupid and irrelevant and unserious and a joke, but they’re horrified that she won’t tell them where she’s going so they can dig around through the trash from the bus. It’s one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen.

  2. Wow…73% increase in govt owned limos under Obama, and they still have to try to pin the blame on Bush for the increase. Nothing stopping them from cancelling the contracts if they weren’t needed. No wonder DC is the hottest place to be for jobs, home values, and living the good life. What a cesspool of greed and corruption, while the rest of America is suffering a slow and painful death.

  3. Q: Why doesn’t our vaunted President ride about the country and tell us what a wonderful nation this is, in a bus adorned with words from the Constitution and a large American flag?
A: Because the Apology Tour Bus is painted pink and has a large peace sign on the side with Michael Moore at the wheel and the Muslim Brotherhood inside smoking hookah’s.

Limosine and Liberal go together like crack and crackpipe. I am not suprised that State got most of the vehicles; Limo-Libs know that “being cool” and “making a scene” is key to maintaining “street cred.” It’s all about appearance to the left, nothing more.

Gates leaving? Thank God. You dont fight an internecine guerilla war by building fire stations, movie theatres and shower stalls. You fight guerilla’s with guerilla’s, or as COL Hackworth wrote back in 1969: “You must learn how to out-g the g.” Mr. Gates – you are, like your predecessors an educated man. And thats your problem. You don’t understand history, nor how armies fight and win. When you return home, I urge several books:

    * Sun Tzu, The Art of War.
    * George S. Patton, Jr. War Diary (1939-45).
    * Bernard Fall, Hell in a Very Small Place.

The first describes how to fight and win unconventionally; the second, how to win conventionally and the third describes what never to never do in war: build bases, bunkers and ammunition stocks and make yourself a target for the enemy.

    1SFC Petry: Hero. … salute …

    • The other answer to your question is that MrO doesn’t think America is a wonderful country and tells us why with every speech he makes.
When PMNetanyahu addressed Congress he received a warm response to his speech because HE told us that we’ve been good friends to Israel and we are an exceptional people.

After years of lectures and finger pointing by our own Prez, it was a relief to hear someone say what we have always believed, that we are a good, generous and faithful friend to other nations and their people.
