As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

High School Students to Obama: Get Away!

The One thought it would be a good idea for students to compete to hear him.

The Students thought it was not such a good idea.

According to veteran CBS Radio White House Correspondent Peter Maer, the White House is having a real bad time getting schools to compete for the right to host him at their commencement.

A few days before the original Feb. 25 deadline – which was extended – only 14 schools had applied nationwide.

CBS News has learned a White House Communications Office internal memo dated February 22 noted “a major issue with the Commencement Challenge.”

“As of yesterday we had received 14 applications and the deadline is Friday,” the memo said. The memo also urged recipients to, “please keep the application number close hold.”

Nice the way the openness administration wants this hush hush.

Desperate, the White House put Nick Jonas on the case.

One thing to wonder about – why are only public schools involved in the challenge? Just because kids’ parents have money or want to give them a Catholic education, they’re excluded?

Are they considered “Fat Cat Students?”

Another thing to wonder about: Why does Nick Jonas need a scarf indoors? Did the Libya crisis prompt Obama to turn the thermostat down?

And a final thing to consider: IS IT POSSIBLE THESE KIDS ARE PISSED OFF ABOUT THEIR HEALTHY NEW SCHOOL LUNCH MENUS???

    • Agreed. Even the grads don’t want to be there for all the pomp and folderol; they just want to get to the Graduation parties.

  1. Could it be that the President is now toxic? Could it be that Michelle Obama’s Phat Fat Crusade will affect the already strained cafeteria budgets of smaller, public schools who face cuts? Could it be that President Obama’s willingness to cut education entitlement (which will certainly affect these schools) while leaving fat cat defense, Social Security and bloated agencies untouched? Or, could it be that America has Obama-mania Fatigue?

  2. It is a sad affair when Matt Damon threw in the towel and they had called in second string Nick Jonas to pick up the gauntlet.

    • Damon was a *huge* supporter; and, as a far left, Hollywood elitist, he too (like thousands) are upset the President has not raised the red banner, sang La Internationale and jailed “dissidents” (Christians, Jews, Buddhists, etc.) for disagreeing with The One. The key here is to see if Hollywood will come out for Obama in the next election; if they do, the showing may be light.

  3. Who wants to hear more from the circus barker anywy? All we’ve heard
socialist phony promises. Looks like our country is going like Greece
and the other socialist sewers. Too bad. The teen agers are bigining to see the light of Obama’s BS
