The One thought it would be a good idea for students to compete to hear him.
The Students thought it was not such a good idea.
According to veteran CBS Radio White House Correspondent Peter Maer, the White House is having a real bad time getting schools to compete for the right to host him at their commencement.
A few days before the original Feb. 25 deadline – which was extended – only 14 schools had applied nationwide.
CBS News has learned a White House Communications Office internal memo dated February 22 noted “a major issue with the Commencement Challenge.”
“As of yesterday we had received 14 applications and the deadline is Friday,” the memo said. The memo also urged recipients to, “please keep the application number close hold.”
Nice the way the openness administration wants this hush hush.
Desperate, the White House put Nick Jonas on the case.
One thing to wonder about – why are only public schools involved in the challenge? Just because kids’ parents have money or want to give them a Catholic education, they’re excluded?
Are they considered “Fat Cat Students?”
Another thing to wonder about: Why does Nick Jonas need a scarf indoors? Did the Libya crisis prompt Obama to turn the thermostat down?
And a final thing to consider: IS IT POSSIBLE THESE KIDS ARE PISSED OFF ABOUT THEIR HEALTHY NEW SCHOOL LUNCH MENUS???
