As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

President Obama, Union Man

Given current events in Wisconsin and President Obama’s immediate move to back the unions, I thought you might be interested to take a look at this video, which shows Obama talking to members of the Service Employees International Union as a candidate on January 15, 2008. It looks like Obama is in Nevada speaking a few days before the caucus there.

Just look at the passion and the commitment. I don’t know of any other recent major Democratic presidential candidate who could muster up such visceral commitment to the union cause. The president is one with labor, and his support for the public unions at the state level is not just a tactic to appease the Left.

  1. Back in the day, JimmyHoffa was the most powerful man in America. With a nod of his head, the Teamsters could shut down commerce from coast to coast. He disappeared.
Back in the day, the Steelworkers ruled the steel industry and then destroyed it.
Today, the public sector unions are draining the State treasury wherever they hold rein. Their day is over, too.
The POTUS should not be taking sides against the taxpayers who must pay the union workers. There are more of us than them.

    • We seem to forget that “there are more of us than them.” What Americans do have, besides the ballot, is the firearm – the one item that SCARES THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS out of politicians.

POTUS hates firearms, as does the Democratic Party, academia, the Northern labor unions and various other ash-and-trash of the left. What keeps this filth in place are about 190,000,000 fireamrs-owning Americans: farmers with rifles, a Jewish rabbi with a 9mm whose relatives perished in the Holocaust, a homemaker who owns a .38 for home defence, an African American family who lives in the projects but has a .45 under the bed to defend against criminal-terrorist gangs, a retired union steel worker on a fixed income who has a concealed carry permit because he has no car and has to walk to the post office and grocery store.

  2. I am surprised Wal-Mart invites and entertains Michelle My Belle Obama. They are so against the unions how does that partnership work between her and that company?

On another topic, I read he promised in a campaign speech to walk the line; well, why don’t we flood the White House mail room with those comfortable shoes he said he would put. I would love nothing more then to see him take that short rope he is on and pull it tighter. 2012 a reason for hope and change.

  3. And the ‘political power’ they built has destroyed Chicago…now take that ‘Chicago Way’ to the nation…and, well, it explains alot of why the Country is circling the bottom drain.

Maybe Barry’s trainer can stop by his old Chicago Rezko manse, pick that ‘pair of comfortable shoes’ (and maybe a pair of mom jeans) so that Obama can ‘walk that picket line.’

    Oh wait…that a campaign promise…yep…never mind.

  4. Behind the word “folks”, which he uses like toilet paper, the second most oft used word by our Presidential wordsmith is ‘power.’ Interesting that the word ‘freedom’ is seldom used. There is no need to use ‘freedom’ when you can get what you want through ‘power.’
