White House Sings Familiar Tune on Bad Jobs Number

White House Council of Economic Advisers Chairman Austan Goolsbee said the recession was so deep, that it takes a long time to get out of it, and we’ve made progress but we need to make more.

Heard that anywhere before?

The Labor Department announced this morning that the jobless rate now stands at 9.8 percent.

    • Star: so right. First it was the Prez, but he flew away. Then, it was going to be VPBiden but something real important must have come up.
Soooo…MrGoolsbee was pushed out the door, told to talk to everyone and say nothing.

        • All grist for his comedy act.

Did anyone read that Gail Collins in the NYT today (Sat)–she is so not funny, but people always write–funniest yet, Gail, and stuff. Anyhow it’s all about how mean people are in Arizona, what a loser state, how we all wanted that guy to be denied a liver transplant, how Republican it is to kill a father with young children. You know what–a lot of people think that should not have happened! Someone in the comments said maybe not everyone is Arizona is mean, but the majority are. Sit on a tack, you dips!
