As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

Obama Calls Boehner, McConnell and Pelosi

Obama called to make nice with the Speaker-to-be, the Senate GOP leader, and the exiting Speaker. Here’s what he told the Republicans, according to the White House.

In his calls with Rep. Boehner and Sen. McConnell, the President said he was “looking forward to working with him and the Republicans to find common ground, move the country forward and get things done for the American people.”

Very profound and surprising. No word on what he said to Pelosi. Maybe, “Hey, I’ll buy you lunch.”

I assume he hasn’t called Reid because he doesn’t know what to say to him.

  1. We would expect no less from the Prez.
However, a vision of MrAxelrod standing behing MrO while twisting his arm in a painful hold during the telephone calls comes to mind.

  2. Maybe he will say to Reid, “I will really need you, Harry, you got me into this making me run with my ‘gifts’ and I never paid much attention to how the Senate works…So, hmmm, what now?”

  3. Speaking of Mr Axelrod and the other rods, there was a pretty devastating piece yesterday in the WSJ about how bad his messaging was and how much Dems resented it (referring mainly to that vapid Chamber gambit). Isn’t he leaving…when was that again? (In my earpiece—Oh, this morning?)
